The bell rings at 7:50 AM each day, and learning begins at that time! Students are LATE if they arrive at that time and must be dropped off at the front of the school. If you are dropping your child off at the front after the bell rings, you need to get out with your child, sign them in, and provide our attendance clerk with the reason for your child's tardiness.

• Car Tags- Please keep your car tag hanging and visible until your child is in the car.
• Please keep in mind, that we will not release students past 2:30 PM.
• Updated Contacts- Parents, please review your child's emergency contacts in the parent portal. If someone is not on the list, we cannot release students, even with their license provided. Please update all contact information!
• If a student is dropped off at 7:50 AM or later, you will need to sign in at the front office.
• For any changes in after-school transportation, please contact the office by 2:00 PM so that we have time to relay the message to the student and teacher.
• Label EVERYTHING! At the end of each 9-week period, all unclaimed items (jackets, clothing, shoes, etc.) will be donated. Please write your child's name on their clothing and items so that it can be identified more easily.
• Connect with your child's teacher by signing up for their teacher communication (Remind, Dojo, etc.)

All incoming 2024-2025 T.J. Austin Kindergarten students and parents are invited to join us for the Kindergarten Round-Up on April 4th, Thursday, 5-6 PM.

During the event, you will have the opportunity to:

*Meet and Greet the Kindergarten Teachers

*Do a Campus Walk

*Receive Online Registration Assistance

Please bring the following: Proof of Address, Driver's License/Valid ID, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and Current Immunization Records.

K-5 students will participate in observing the Solar Eclipse outdoors. K-5 parents/guardians are invited to join us for this special event. It's a great opportunity to observe and learn about this natural phenomenon alongside your child. Should K-5 parents/guardians opt to view the Solar Eclipse on campus with their child, kindly note that check-in at the front office is mandatory and must be completed no later than 1:00 pm and you will be escorted to your child’s designated area. Notify your child's teacher if you opt to view with your child.

Due to safety considerations and age appropriateness, our Pre-K, Head Start, and ECSE teachers and students will not be taking part in the outdoor viewing of the Solar Eclipse on campus. However, they will have the opportunity to view live stream in their classrooms.

Additionally, we extend a warm invitation to Pre-K, Head Start, and ECSE parents to join their children for a special viewing of the Solar Eclipse on campus at a designated area. Should parents/guardians opt to view the Solar Eclipse on campus, kindly note that check-in at the front office is mandatory and must be completed no later than 1:00 pm. Notify your child's teacher if you opt to view with your child.

Important Notes:

• Parents/Guardians are kindly informed that they will not be permitted to check out their child from school between 12:30-2:00 pm.

• Students may opt out of viewing the Solar Eclipse (notify your child's teacher)

• Only students and TJ Austin employees will be provided with glasses

As we prepare for the upcoming Solar Eclipse, it's crucial to ensure the safety of our students and ourselves during this celestial event. To help us facilitate safe viewing experiences, we'd like to share some essential guidelines provided by the American Astronomical Society and NASA:
