Happy March!
Dear Fricano Families,
Happy March!
We are hopeful with the start of March we will see spring weather join us. This month is another great month where students will show growth academically, socially, and emotionally. As we've rounded to the second half of the school year, please know we will continue our safety drills. Practicing drills and procedures helps students understand what to do in an emergency situation, and it helps our building and district refine and improve our protocols.
This month is PARP, or "Pick a Reading Partner." We are One Book, One School where all members of Fricano will read the story "Vacation Under the Volcano!" All families have received one copy of the book (sent with the oldest child in the family) to allow for students to read this story at home. We will have some fun PARP events this month such as reading with dogs, fun science experiments with high school students and more!
As a reminder, our Spring Break starts on March 25th and ends on April 8th.
As always, thank you for partnering with us to support your child(ren) socially, emotionally, and academically. Have a wonderful month!
Sincerely,
Denielle Toth and Taylor Ramsey
Principal and Assistant Principal

Car Drop Off Families:
- Have your child ready to go as you get close, including coat on and backpack in hand. We are seeing students on tablets, etc. and this is delaying our unloading process. Our staff is here to help keep students safe, but your student should be prepared to carry their own backpack, etc.
- Have your child on the passenger side of the car for easy and safe unloading
Thank you for your help with this process as we work to get all students in school quickly and safely!
Emergency Drills and Actions
- Hold in Place/Shelter in Place: Used to limit movement of students while dealing with short term emergencies. Example- A staff member has a medical emergency or a student needs to be transported through the hallway.
- Evacuate: Used to evacuate students and staff from the building. Example- there is a fire inside of the building.
- Lockout: Used to secure school buildings during incidents that post an imminent concern outside of the school. Example- there is an emergency in the outside community.
- Lockdown: Used to secure school buildings and grounds during incidents that pose an immediate threat of violence in or around the school. Example- There is someone with a weapon trying to enter the school..
