After returning from the storm, we kicked off the week by a viewing of the eclipse! We have many great pictures posted on our website and FB page. Please be sure to check them out. We have also been celebrating Eat the Rainbow Week. Thank you to Miss Anna and her legion of volunteers who helped prepare the special snacks each day. Students were able to sample a variety of fruits and veggies they had never tasted. Thank you, families, for helping your students remember to wear the "rainbow" color of the day.

After several weather-related delays, our fifth-grade students were able to finally go outside and explore the vernal pools. This is always a favorite experience for our students.

It's hard to believe that next week is our spring vacation! I hope that everyone will have a chance to relax and enjoy spending time with their child/children. Please be sure to take a look at the enclosed PTA flyer for the April 25th Family Fun night. It's sure to be a great time!

Kindergarten wasn't sure what to think of their purple and blue snacks yesterday, until they tried them and found them tasty. Did you know carrots and broccoli come in purple, too?

Do you, or someone you know, have a child living in Phippsburg that will be five by October 15th? If so, they are eligible for our full-day kindergarten class. Please call Mrs. Doran at 389-1514, and we’ll add them to the list for this fall. Parent Information Night will be Wednesday, May 15th from 5-5:45PM and Kindergarten screening will be Friday, June 7th. Advance notice helps us to ensure we have enough materials. Online kindergarten registration is now available at the link at the bottom of our website. If your child is currently attending the CHOICES program or you have other students in RSU1, please use your parent portal account (portal.rsu1.org). If your family is new to RSU1 and you are registering for the first time for Kindergarten, choose the Kindergarten registration link. Families are encouraged to register as soon as possible. We look forward to assisting you.

Mad Science returns for K-5 before school enrichment on Wednesdays, 8:20-9:20AM, from April 24th - June 5th. Cost: $96; full and half scholarships are available. Mrs. Webb read about an organization donating eclipse glasses to South American children to use this summer. If you are finished with yours, you can leave them with Mrs. Doran this month, and Mrs. Webb will collect them and send them in. Thank you. 😎

We had our PTA meeting this week while cutting up fruit and veggies for Eat the Rainbow Week.

We're all spending more time outside; please help us get the roadsides picked up for spring! This is a great, safe way for your group or yourself to get outside and help your community. Event is 8am-12pm, with lunch provided afterwards. Please start the day by coming to the firehouse to sign in and get free supplies. Cleaning a piece on your own? Call or email to let us know it's been done! Be sure to check yourself and family for ticks afterwards.
