JSE Families and Friends,

We have an amazing opportunity to get to witness the Solar Eclipse at 95% totality at Union Township School Corporation. Our schools are providing solar eclipse glasses to all students and staff on Monday, April 8th. We must have your permission slips turned in for your child to view the eclipse. This is an amazing learning opportunity and to experience a scientific and historical event!

Why is the eclipse such a big deal?

• this eclipse will last longer than that of 2017 and years' past (4.5 minutes vs about 2 minutes in 2017)
• the sky will fall darker as the moon will be closer to Earth and cover more
• the eclipse will put on a lively solar show as it passes (since the sun is about solar maximum so we'll see lots of bright, petal-like streamers from the eclipse)
• last major eclipse to cross North America for 20 years

It's going to be a great week of learning and discovery!

Mr. Dickey is bringing back his elementary art show for both schools. This will be Friday, April 12 from 5-7pm at Union Center. UCE will be hosting a books and board game night as well. UCE will have their book fair open, and you are welcome to shop there of preview items for our sale the following week. I cannot wait to see all of the artwork on display!

Get involved with PTO! We have a great group of family volunteers that do so much for our school. We could not do many of the amazing things we do for students without their support.

Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm at the JSE Library. You may bring your children too.

FREE Virtual Love & Logic Way course starts

Monday, April 8th!!

We all love our kids but wouldn't it be great to get a little help with the common parenting struggles we all face? Solutions for whining, back talk, chores, etc? Whether you are new to the course or coming back for a refresher, we would love to have you join us and add some more tools to your parental tool belt.

This course is FREE and VIRTUAL!! Each Monday, participants will be emailed a link with the course content for the week. Links will be live for the entire week allowing participants to watch any time during the week that works best. You can sign up by clicking the link.

Workbooks for the course are also FREE and will be dropped off at your child's school prior to the start of class to be sent home with your child. If you are joining us for a refresher or have taken the course before, the workbook is the same and you can use your previous one. You will be able to let us know if you need a workbook when you register for the course.
