Assistant Headteacher - Mrs S Humphreys
Dear Parents & Carers,
We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the onset of spring.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support throughout the week; it truly means a lot to us.
This week at Carleton Park J & I School has been nothing short of thrilling, packed with an array of enriching learning experiences for our pupils:
- Year 5 Residential Trip to Marrick Priory: From Monday to Friday, our Year 5 class embarked on an unforgettable journey to Marrick Priory in Swaledale. Under the guidance of our dedicated teachers - Mrs. Jennings, Mr. Campbell, and Miss Crowcroft - the children participated in a myriad of activities including climbing, abseiling, canoeing, and orienteering. This annual residential trip provided our pupils with invaluable opportunities to foster teamwork, resilience, and independence amidst the breathtaking backdrop of nature. It was great to visit the group on Thursday and witness the remarkable achievements of each and every child.Their spirit and determination were truly commendable.
- Reception Class Visit to Swithens Farm: Our Reception Class had a fantastic time at Swithens Farm on Tuesday, immersing themselves in a hands-on learning experience. We extend our sincere gratitude to the staff and parent helpers who made this outing possible. Such excursions play a pivotal role in broadening our pupils' horizons and fostering a love for learning beyond the classroom
- UKS2 Tag Rugby Competition: Despite Year 5's absence due to the residential trip, our UKS2 tag rugby team showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship at the annual Trust competition. Special commendations are due to the two Year 4 boys who stepped up admirably, making a significant contribution to the team's success. Their dedication and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.
- Comic Relief Bun Sale: Today, we came together as a school community to raise awareness and support Comic Relief through a delightful bun sale. Your generous donations will undoubtedly make a meaningful difference to the fundraising efforts. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
We do have buns left so will be reselling those that remain next week - this date will be communicated on Monday.
As always, we are immensely proud of our children's achievements and grateful for your ongoing support in nurturing their growth and development.
Wishing you all a restful weekend ahead.
Best Regards,
Mr Ayre
