CSD Top 3
Your monthly school district newsletter
Thursday, April 4
Dear Canby Families,
Welcome back! We are excited for a strong finish to the school year. Please read on for this month’s CSD Top 3, those three things we think you’d like to know, plus the lunch menus. Enjoy!
Elementary Chefs Get Cookin'
Elementary students from across the district competed in the Sodexo Future Chefs competition last month with a variety of family-favorite recipes! Congratulations to Ninety-One fourth-grader Sierra Graf on winning with her original recipe – Sierra’s World Famous Grilled Shrimp & Mushroom Pesto Pasta with Triple-cheesy Garlic Bread. She will go on to compete at the next level.
Tying for second place were Knight third-grader Savannah Fournier with Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins and Eccles fourth-grader Emerson Parosa with Lazy Day Lasagna Soup. Thank you to the other students who competed with their fantastic recipes as well: Carus fifth-grader Elinor Brown, Carus fifth-grader Emmett Magenheimer, Trost fifth-grader Madeline Kennemer, and Trost third-grader Bauer Edlund.
Reading Mentors inspires a love of reading by providing students with their own library of books and consistent, one-on-one reading with a caring adult. Kids who read for fun, read to learn!
The Canby Center is looking for volunteers who love to read and have a heart for students. If you can meet consistently to enjoy reading with a student at an elementary school in Canby, or fill in as a substitute occasionally, contact:
