Spring Testing Continues 🧠
Our students participate in a variety of standardized testing. Below is a description of each standardized test left to be administered this Spring.
Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)
Students: College-bound 11th-grade students
Testing date at LHS: April 23rd & 24th 2024
The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a voluntary assessment used to determine students' readiness for college. Colleges use the SAT to understand how well a student will succeed in their academic environment. Many schools no longer require the SAT, however, good SAT scores can positively impact a student's college admission decision, and open up opportunities for scholarships. This year, the SAT is a computer-based assessment for the first time, and Lindenwold High School is allowing students to take the SAT during their school day at LHS at no cost to our students.
New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA)
Students: Students in grades 3-9, and 11
Testing Window: April 29-May 24, 2024 (contact your student’s school for specific testing dates)
The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) evaluates students' academic abilities in English Language Arts and Mathematics in grades 3-9 (including all students taking Algebra 1), and Science in grades 5, 8, and 11. This assessment will measure how well your child masters the state’s educational standards. The results help teachers tailor instruction, and they are used to assess school and district performance. It is a tool to ensure your child is on track for success in their education.
Students: Students in Grade 12 planning to attend Camden County College
Testing Date: May 1, 2024
The purpose of Accuplacer is to measure skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. The placement results will help each student determine which courses are most appropriate based
on their current knowledge and skills.
Advanced Placement testing (AP)
Students: Students taking Advanced Placement Courses (grades 11 and 12)
Testing Window: May 6-17, 2024
Advanced Placement (AP) testing provides students with an opportunity to take college-level courses in high school. At the end of the course, there is a corresponding AP exam. This test evaluates our student’s understanding of the subject. High scores can earn college credit, potentially saving time and money in higher education. It is a chance for your child to showcase their knowledge and stand out in the college admissions process.
What actually IS Bullying? 🛑
The presentation shared information with parents and families on how to report a suspected violation of HIB to their child's school, as well as, differentiated bullying from the other types of challenges school-aged children may encounter with their peers in the school setting.
Lindenwold Public Schools need parents as partners in encouraging our students to solve problems in a safe and productive manner. If you did not make it to one of our presentations, please check out the video below for more information on what our bullying policy entails and how you can help support an inclusive school community.
Preventative Partnerships with Local Law Enforcement
Afterschool Gaming Program
This program will continue into 2024-2025 school year at LMS and will look to expand to Lindenwold High School in the future as well.
