Gertie Belle Rogers Elementary
March 2024

A Note from the Principal's Office
In March we start to peek towards next school year: Kindergarten Jumpstart, classroom requests (a link will be coming at the end of the month), finalizing our spring testing schedule for grades three through five, and our fifth graders start looking to the horizon. However, there are multiple things left, at all grade levels, that are still to come this school year! Field trips are coming up, and fun year end activities are sprinkled all through March, April, and May.
For our families of older students, please plan on your child participating in their spring assessments beginning as early as April 8th and continuing into the first week of May. It is important that they are present each day in that time span if possible.
This month our Energy Bus focus is on Drive With a Purpose. This means that we want to keep our eyes on our positive vision, fuel our rides with positive energy, and steer clear of Energy Vampires as we roll forward! Keep moving towards the goals you have set as a family, and as a learner, and keep thinking positively in order to overcome obstacles that are in your way.
We will also be continuing our focus on the idea of being a Coffee Bean! Remember, each day you arrive at school as a learner, or each day as a family member or friend, you have the ability to change the water of those around you for the better. Continue to reinforce for learners that they can change the environment at school too just by having a great attitude and trying their very best.
Keep going forward with a purpose! Our time together grows shorter with each passing day, and soon enough summer vacation will be knocking at our door - but this is a very important time of year. Make sure you, your family, and our learners have a chance to take it all in!
