Hello, Wonderful Linder Families!

This is Mrs. Rodriguez with a few reminders as we gear up for another wonderful week of learning and growing together.

I hope you had a restful and enjoyable weekend! We look forward to seeing our Eagles for another week of learning!

This week our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students begin taking their state test STAAR exams. They have been working hard to review and prepare. Please carefully review the information below for dates and ways to support your Eagle. Also, there are not campus visitors allowed to visit the campus during STAAR testing days. We apologize for any inconveniences and appreciate your support.

As a reminder, we will have school on Monday, but Wednesday there is not school for students. We wish a happy Eid to our families who celebrate.

We need your help with ensuring our students are at school every day. A key factor in the success of our students is their daily attendance. Please help ensure your student is at school daily unless they are sick or have a fever. If a student is absent, please be sure to provide a note to the front office or call 512-414-2398 if you have any questions.

The success of each school comes from three pillars: staff, students and families. With your help and support we can continue to soar to new heights!

We appreciate all you do to support Linder.

Reminders:

• School begins at 7:40. School is over at 3:10.
  
• Bring a water bottle. We have water refill stations.
• Students have recess everyday and should wear shoes they can safely play in.

• All arrival and dismissal is at our front drive. Please drive slowly through the front drive. Please be patient.
• Bus rider drop off begins first at 7:05.
• Parent drop off begins at 7:15, after buses clear.

Esta semana nuestros estudiantes de 3º, 4º y 5º grado comienzan a tomar sus exámenes estatales STAAR. Han estado trabajando duro para revisar y preparar. Revise cuidadosamente la información a continuación para conocer las fechas y formas de apoyar a su Águila. Austin ISD will host an Enroll Austin Pre-K Registration Clinic for families at AISD Central Office (4000 S. I-H 35 Frontage Rd, Austin, 78704) in the Board Auditorium on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 8:30am - 12:00pm.

• Families will receive one-on-one support with the new registration process.

• Representatives from the Departments of Enrollment and Attendance, Early Learning, and Communication and Community Engagement will be on-site to support families.

• Families will learn more about Pre-K in Austin ISD.

• We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

This is a reminder that Wickshire Lane (to the left of the staff parking lot) is a one-way street. Please drive accordingly to prevent any traffic issues and to eliminate any safety concerns for our students who walk home.

The application process is split into Priority Registration and General Registration periods. Priority Registration closes on February 6, 2024 and General Registration will begin on April 2, 2024.

Enrollment will temporarily close between February 7 and April 2, 2024, to allow the Enroll Austin system/platform to process applications for priority registration programs and schools. We will continue to encourage our students to eat healthy at school.

Foods of Minimal Nutritional Value will not be allowed for snacks during the day. This includes candy, soda, and chips. We will share healthy snack options with families and students. Please privately remind students and remind families of our snack expectations if they bring a snack that is an FMNV.

A quick and healthy option readily available are the fruit options provided with our BIC. We will continue to inform and share ideas as we begin our Brighter Bites lessons, as well.

Unfortunately, moving forward we will no longer be able to heat up lunches that are brought from home. Please support us by packing lunches for your student that do not require the microwave.

Rules:

• For the safety of everyone, behave appropriately with no loud noises.
• Cooperate with the bus driver and others.
• Enter and exit the bus in an orderly fashion.
• Transportation employees have the authority to assign seats at any time.
• Stay in your assigned seat, facing forward.
• Keep hands, head and feet inside the bus.
• Do not drop or throw objects inside or outside the bus.
• Do not eat or drink, except water, while on the bus.
• Do not litter on the bus.
• No inappropriate language.
• No weapons, alcohol or drugs, including tobacco.
• No physical or verbal altercations.
• No skateboards
• Buckle up at all times

Consequences for violations:

1. First violation: Principal or assistant principal will conference with student. Suspension from the bus may occur with this violation. Parents or guardians will be notified.
2. Second violation: Student will be suspended from the bus for three school days. Parents or guardian will be notified.
3. Third violation: Student will be suspended from the bus for an extended period of time until agreement can be reached between parents, guardians, administrator, bus driver, transportation supervisor and student.

Reglas:

We want to ensure that we can make our school dismissal process as efficient as possible, but please know that dismissal may take longer than usual during the first few weeks of school as we try to get all students to the proper location. We appreciate your patience and flexibility in this regard. Additionally, we would like to inform you that there is ongoing construction in the neighborhood so you may have to take an alternative route to arrive to Linder.
