February 2024 Newsletter

Happy April, Clayville!
March has been quite a month. Mrs. Hess and her family welcomed their newest member, Bodhi Asher Hess, on St. Patrick's Day. Mr. Breault has been busy on the ground at Clayville supporting teachers and students as Clayville kicked off RICAS testing, saw the welcome arrival of new playground mulch, got into the swing of our before and afterschool programs, and hosted Audubon's raptors for March's community event. Check out more details of what we've been up to below.
Reminder from Mrs. Reynolds: Please put the date on notes to the office and please sign the note! Thank you!
Reminder from Mrs. Theroux: Dental screenings will take place April 1st.
In partnership,
Sarah Hess & Michael Breault

Academic Updates
Spotlight on Fifth Grade
The fifth grade team finds so much success in and out of the classroom building on each other's strengths and ideas. Their ongoing collaboration brings out the champion in each and every one of them.
Before and After School Programs
Early in the 23-24 school year, during a PTO meeting, parents expressed interest in afterschool programs. The Learn 365 Grant has allowed Clayville to launch a handful of programs which students are truly enjoying! These include a read aloud club before school for K-2nd graders, a book club before school for 3rd-5th graders, a mindfulness club afterschool for 3rd-5th graders, an origami club afterschool for 2nd-5th graders, and of course PBL/Steam, now in it's second round with K-2nd graders.
We'll continue to build out our before and after school programs slowly but appreciate your feedback, which is how we knew to get started with the programming! Feel free to share your thoughts on the survey below.
