We are the MIDDLE
WMS Demons
From Mrs. Kennedy
It was wonderful to see so many of our parents and student attend conferences. THANK YOU! Our staff appreciated connecting with you and working together to help your student(s) be successful!
Throughout the school year, the WMS staff has collaborated to create our Core Beliefs. We wanted to share them with you so that you are aware of what we value most as a staff for our students, family, and community.
Connect
We build strong and meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
Communicate
We communicate openly and honestly.
We communicate relevant information promptly.
All voices are valued.
Cooperate
Everyone is a learner.
We grow from our mistakes.
We have solution mindsets (problem-solving).
We are a team.
With gratitude,
Katy Kennedy

Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
It Takes Us All to help Ensure the Safety of our Students, Families, and Neighbors.
- The speed limit in front of WMS is 15 mph at all times.
- Morning Personal Vehicle Drop off occurs behind WMS next to the WMS black top.
- When dropping off or picking up students, please
- Please stop your vehicle and pull over to the side of the road.
- This follows city and state traffic laws.
- This allows for other traffic to pass.
- This helps keep everyone safe.
- Do not stop in the intersection to drop off students.
- This follows city and state traffic laws.
- This allows for other traffic to pass.
- This helps keep everyone safe.
- Encourage your child to use the cross walks for their safety and the safety of others.
- If there is someone else who picks up and drops off your student, please remind them of these expectations.
- Older siblings may need extra reminders.
As adults, we are modeling driver responsibilities for our students. Remember they are watching.
We care about the safety of our students, families, and community very much. We need your help to ensure we are as safe as possible.
Street Parking Reminders
Please follow city and state laws when parking near WMS. We have very little space that is open for regular parking directly in front of the school. I know this can be an inconvenience. I understand that everyone is in a hurry and pick up and drop off times can be more hectic. However, we need to work together to follow these laws for the safety of others.
We have marked areas to be used for those who need handicap access. There has been an increasing number of individuals using these spaces who do not have permission. Even if you are still in your car and it is running, this would be considered a violation city and state laws.
Please be aware signs and curb areas that are painted yellow for our buses. This space needs to be available at all times for our buses. We have buses that pick up and drop off children before school, after school, and throughout the school day. Parking in this space leads to unsafe pick up or drop off for our students.

Reminder of Student Cell Phone Expectations
Since returning to break, there has been an increasing number of students who are choosing to not follow the expectation of cell phone use while in the school.
Here is the expectations as listed in the WMS Student/Parent Handbook:
Cell Phones
The possession and use of cellular phones, pagers, and other electronic signaling devices on school grounds, at school-sponsored activities, or while otherwise under the supervision and control of District employees is a privilege.
If students choose to bring cell phones, they must remain in their lockers silenced at all times.
Students are allowed to use their cell phones ONLY when:
During transition periods while at their lockers.
A staff member has given permission to use cell phones for academic purposes in class at a specified time.
If a student chooses to use their cell phone in ways that do not follow the expectations, a parent/guardian will be notified to pick up the student’s cell phone from the WMS Main Office, and the student will not be allowed the privilege of bringing his/her cell phone to school.
We highly encourage students use a padlock to lock their locker at all times. This has been discussed with students numerous times throughout the year. WMS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Please contact our Main Office if you have questions.
Every Thursday is WMS Spirt Day
