News & Upcoming Events
Good Morning OES families!
We had a very busy week! Be sure to check out the images below.
Spirit week was a huge success! Students enjoyed the variety of activities planned by our PTCA.
The Middle School Rock, Paper, Scissor challenge wrapped up Friday morning, before heading to Jay Peak. The final round found Mrs. Currier and Ms. Blake against each other. Mrs. Currier was named the winner. Roan Smith was the last.student to remain in the challenge - she won a $20.00 gift certificate to Sweet Scoops!
The Penny Challenge table was extremely busy on Friday - as classes intentionally sabotaged each other! The PTCA will be sponsoring an ice cream party for the class that had the most pennies!
On April 23rd from 5:30 - 7:00 please join us for a Vermont Author Evening. John Churchman and Rachel Roy will be here! Please see the information below and in the separate notification I have sent out. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect, receive free books, and enjoy cookies & milk.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone!
Have a wonderful vacation! (School resumes on Monday - April 22)
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Updated CDC Guidelines RE: COVID 19
While COVID-19 still poses a significant health threat to people at higher risk, its health impacts are now similar to other respiratory viruses, like the flu, which are also important causes of illness and death, especially for people at higher risk. As a result, this is the right time to issue unified Respiratory Virus Guidance, rather than additional guidance for each specific virus.
What to Do When you Have or May Have a Respiratory Virus:
Stay home and away from others (including people you live with who are not sick) if you have respiratory virus symptoms that aren't better explained by another cause. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.
- You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
- Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
- You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
- When you go back to your normal activities, take added precaution over the next 5 days, such as taking additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be around other people indoors.
- Keep in mind that you may still be able to spread the virus that made you sick, even if you are feeling better. You are likely to be less contagious at this time, depending on factors like how long you were sick or how sick you were.
- If you develop a fever or you start to feel worse after you have gone back to normal activities, stay home and away from others again until, for at least 24 hours, both are true: your symptoms are improving overall, and you have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). Then take added precaution for the next 5 days.
