Whitewater High School NHS Visits Lincoln
NHS Students lead our fifth graders with some leadership and personal growth activities. Thank you to Mrs. Pamela Sonmor-Wintz, NHS advisor, and her students leading our fifth graders!
Cops N Kids Reading Program
Every year two of our classrooms are able to welcome members of the Whitewater Police Department to our school to be guest readers. Students in Mrs. Genung's kindergarten class and Ms. McAdams 1st grade class were able to listen and interact with these officers!
4K- Grade of the Month Spotlight
We have been having so much fun learning, working together, and making connections in 4K! The past few months, we learned about transportation and got to take a tour of a school bus, we made classroom treats together, tried new foods, created many masterpieces, went on a leprechaun hunt, and started planting seeds for our garden. We also fit in a little time to learn about letters, numbers, science, practice our fine and gross motor skills, play outside, play inside, and how to be kind. It's been a pretty great year so far!
Lincoln Fine Arts Night
Lincoln Garden
This year, we will be moving into season TEN of learning and growing at the garden! We have so many opportunities to get involved and to enjoy our incredible space at Lincoln. Coming garden events include planting seeds, preparing the soil, and getting seedlings in the ground. Over the summer we will be, constructing a storage shed, fixing our sign, adding some new sensory features, and tending to the crops. This is a great time to get you and your family involved in helping us maintain this important treasure that we have cultivated for a decade! Use the QR code to become a garden helper over the summer. Garden helpers volunteer for a week to water plants, pick weeds, and harvest whatever is ready to be picked. It's a great way to connect to nature, get outside, and get your kids to try some new foods.
Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Jo (Jo Baker) at: jbaker@wwusd.org with any questions. And watch the Lincoln FTP Facebook page for updates as the growing season gets underway. Happy Spring!
Forward Testing
Wisconsin students in grades 3, 4, and 5, will be participating in the Wisconsin Forward assessment during the Spring testing window. State assessments, including the Forward , are required by both State (Wis. Stat. § 118.30) and Federal ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) (Every Student Succeeds Act) Law. Our school is scheduled to take the Forward assessment between March 18 and April 26.
Third and fifth grade students will be tested in Math and ELA. Students have already started their ELA testing in fourth grade and will be tested in Math, Science and Social Studies the next two weeks. One or more subtests may be administered daily during our selected time frame. Students not in school on testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
Please encourage your child to do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations regarding curriculum, placement, and services to best support students.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (262)472-8500.
Thank you,
Brad Gefvert, Principal

Family Friday Assembly
Every month Mr. Pratt, our dean of students, organizes our Family Friday Assembly. Each month we focus on one of our habits, highlight a class's musical talents and give out "Golden Tickets" to students that were recognized by their teachers for something outstanding they have done. This month our 5th grade choir sang their fruit song for us!

Office Mural
5th grade Mural Club students showcased their talents by completing a mural for the main office. The students did an amazing job planning, preparing and finalizing the mural. A special thanks to Mrs. Belzer, art teacher, and Ms. Templeman, art student teacher, for their leadership with this project. Please come and check it out in person!
FTP Culvers' Night
FTP "treated" our students to an unexpected surprise March 19. Scoopie met students afterschool and handed out free custard coupons to students and staff to promote FTP night at Culvers. That evening many families delivered food to customers on a very busy night! Thank you for all of the support of our students and FTP!
Kindergarten Writing Project
Solar Eclipse
On April 8 we would like to invite families to join us to view the solar eclipse. From 1:45-2:15 students will be on the track seated with their class to observe the eclipse. Every student in the district will have eclipse glasses so they can safely observe the eclipse. If you plan on watching with your child we ask that you park on Highland Street or in the Lincoln parking lot. You can meet with your student on the track and sit with them during the peek observation time. The next opportunity to see the eclipse will be in 2044!
