WAUWATOSA MONTESSORI SCHOOL
April 25th, 2024
Principals Message
Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Family,
Thank you to families of Ms. Emily Brenner’s class for preparing a beautiful salad lunch for our amazing staff! We appreciate you!
Please note that the new date of Field Day is Monday, June 3rd and the rain date is Tuesday, June 4th!
Ms. Brennan and Ms. Ionina are preparing for our Wauwatosa Montessori School Student Music and Art Festival coming up on Monday, May 13th! Please mark your calendars for 1:30-3:00. The event will start out with a concert in the gym at 1:30 which should run until about 2:30. Then students will have portfolios of art in their regular classrooms (they are preparing them in art class). The students will be dismissed to classrooms to be ready to show their art portfolios. After the concert, families are invited to walk through and see their child's portfolio before heading out for the day. Students will be dismissed from their classrooms. Students not dismissed from the classroom will be dismissed to the awning for pick up at 3:20. We are excited about this opportunity to showcase the students' art and music exploration this school year!
Thank you to everyone who went out to see the Adamms Family musical comedy last weekend! We are proud of our students including Camryn Mundschau, Jasper Herbst, Mabel Jennings, Lotte Mulkerron, Edward Berghammer, Elleanor Berghammer, Harper Mundschau, Katie Kriegel, Vivian Hinton, Ava Parulski, Kaylee Ballard, Adalynn Butler, Ailis Callan, Georgia Hinton, and Grace Schiller!

Trivia Night - Upper Elementary & AP
Kids in grades 4-8 are invited to the first ever WMS UE/AP Trivia Night. We’ll have general basic trivia, and kids do not need to pre-plan a team. Parents can watch if they like (no helping!) but it’s not required. It’s a free event, and we’ll have some simple snacks. Location is the WMS Gym. Date is Thursday, May 2. Doors open at 6:30, Trivia starts at 7:00 p.m. and goes until about 8:00 p.m.
Call for PTSA Nominations!
The WMS PTSA provides support for the school via hosting events, providing transportation funds for field trips, and teacher appreciation events. We are always looking for help! Next year we have officer openings for the positions of Vice President and Membership Chair. Interested in an officer role or want to nominate another WMS parent or caregiver? Let us know at tosamontessori.ptsa@gmail.com.
Helmets Required for Roller Blading
Please note:
For the safety of the student(s), please make sure they have a helmet when they come to roller blade; just like they did when they had the roller blade unit in gym class.
Thanks so much.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
My name is Jen Jacobs, mom to Olivia in 5K and Preston in 5th. I also am the co-editor of the Oak Tree Oracle, our student-led newsletter. Hopefully you all have been enjoying the “news” from the classrooms! Up until now, the newsletter has been run completely by students in Mrs. Namboothiry’s upper elementary class but I am so excited to be adding student reporters from Ms. Emily’s class as well! They will have a special section featuring student achievements outside the classroom. For example, do you have a child that sings? Plays the drums? Is a karate black belt? Dancer? Theater performer? We want to hear about it and celebrate them! If you and your child are okay with them being featured in the newsletter, please email the Oak Tree Oracle with the student and a picture if available of them doing it is what they do so our student reporters can interview them. And if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me as well.
Email photos and blurbs to both Preston and Ms. Pallin:
By sending an email with a photo you are also giving permission for the photo to be shared.
For the month of April, we are thrilled to highlight a population of individuals who add diversity to our incredible community. For the month of April, we will be Celebrating All Abilities with a focus on Autism acceptance as well as awareness and acceptance of a wide variety of other disabilities. You'll notice new car line signs highlighting 'famous' individuals with disabilities who continue to make fabulous contributions to our world. Please take time to read these when picking up your child and continue these powerful conversations at home! Students will be exploring disability acceptance and awareness throughout the month through instructional texts, morning meeting conversations and more!
