Best Communities for Music Education
We did it! Watertown Unified School District has been named one of the #BestCommunitiesforMusicEducation for the 12th year running!
Thanks to our community members for their continued support of the music and arts in Watertown.
And thanks to our amazing team of music educators. Your effort in and out of the classroom is providing students with experiences and opportunities that make them smarter and more well-rounded humans!
WHS Counselor Update
So you are aware, WHS Counselor Matthew Dunn will be out of the building for the remainder of the school year. Mr. Dunn will be returning to the WHS Counseling Team during the 24-25 school year.
Amy True, Erikka Olson, and the rest of the WHS Student Services team have been working closely with Mr. Dunn to ensure there is as smooth of a transition as possible as we navigate the remaining weeks of the school year. Mrs. True and Mrs. Olson will divide Mr. Dunn’s alphabet to support students on Mr. Dunn’s caseload as follows:
Amy True: Students with the Last Names A-He, V-Z
Erikka Olson: Students with the Last Names Hi-Pe, Pi-U
We know the end of the school year is a critical time for students as they finish their Third Trimester classes so please be sure to reach out directly to Mrs. True or Mrs. Olson if you have any questions or your student needs any support during the remaining weeks of the school year. Thank you for your flexibility as we have a fantastic end to the school year!
UW Direct Admit
Current Junior Students/Parents
The Watertown Unified School District has partnered with the Universities of Wisconsin to offer a seamless way for all students to access higher education opportunities. Direct Admit Wisconsin is an initiative by the Universities of Wisconsin to proactively offer admission to qualifying high school students in between their junior and senior years of high school. Direct admission removes the traditional application process and instead uses data provided by the high school to admit students to universities. The Direct Admit Wisconsin program will launch in 2024 for the class of 2025. Participating UW universities will proactively admit Wisconsin high school students based on their high school GPA, academic coursework, and graduate from a participating Wisconsin high school.
This partnership will broaden access to Wisconsin universities for all students. The district is in the early phases of planning for a successful rollout of the Direct Admit program. Please look for additional information via email and newsletters.
You can access more information now through the Direct Admit website.
Please look for more information throughout the month of April and early May. Students will be offered information regarding Direct Admit during the school day in the coming weeks. If you have any questions regarding the Direct Admit program, please contact your student’s assigned school counselor.
