See "The Wedding Singer" TONIGHT OR TOMORROW @ 7 P.M.

March 15, 2024
From the Desk of Superintendent, Dr. Kevin S. Miller
Dear Licking Heights Families,
Spring is here, and with it are multiple exciting opportunities to support our students! First, there are only two weeks left for our brick paver fundraiser to support the Music Boosters, Athletic Boosters, and PTO. All proceeds from brick sales will go directly to the organization of your choice. Help our elementary students grow by supporting the PTO with a brick purchase, or invest in the athletic and musical talents of our middle and high school students by selecting a booster organization.
Bricks will be placed in the entrance of the new Athletic Complex. The last day to purchase a brick is Sunday, March 31, 2024. All purchases can be made online by clicking the button below.
Second, our high school theatre program’s spring production of “The Wedding Singer” opened last night to much praise! If you missed opening night, there are two additional opportunities to see the show this weekend–tonight, Friday, March 15, and tomorrow, Saturday, March 16. Both shows will be at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Purchase tickets by clicking the button below. Come support our theatre students and the months of work they have put into this year’s show.
Above, you will see the official “Wedding Singer” production trailer created by Samuel Fanko and Andrew Siddell in Mr. Walters’ Advanced Film Production class. I am continually impressed by the video production and visual arts talents of our students. You will see another video below that premiered during Diaspora 2024 on March 1 and 2, made by senior Millard Morgan. Milliard created this behind-the-scenes video to show all that goes into creating a Diaspora performance. It was an audience favorite at both shows.
Please join me in thanking Samuel, Andrew, and Millard for sharing their pieces with us, and Mr. Walters for educating and encouraging the skills of these young artists.
Speaking of young artists, the District Art Show is right around the corner and will include thousands of pieces from students preschool through 12th grade. Come see this free celebration of student creativity on Monday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 19 in the Central Intermediate gym from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We thank our fantastic district team of art teachers for all their hard work to put on this show each year.
Every day brings a new reason to be proud to be a Hornet. Thank you for your support of Licking Heights Local Schools as our Hornets take flight!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kevin S. Miller, Superintendent

Need to Know
REMINDER: IMMUNIZATIONS REQUIRED BY LAW FOR SCHOOL
Immunizations protect both individuals and the general public against communicable diseases. Ohio law requires that a child be immunized against a number of diseases in order to attend school. Parents/guardians are responsible for providing records that show that immunizations have been administered.
The health services department has provided notification if your child is not compliant with their immunizations. This information was either sent home with your child or provided via phone or email.
Most required immunizations are available at doctors’ offices, pharmacies, and walk-in clinics. The Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights also offers immunizations. To schedule an appointment at the health center, please call (220) 564-7830. The health center accepts most private insurances as well as Medicaid. If your child is uninsured, they offer financial assistance.
The health departments also offer immunizations. Please call to schedule an appointment.
- Licking County Health Department Pataskala Branch: (740) 349-6535
- Franklin County Public Health: (614) 525-3719
A child can be excused from this immunization requirement due to religious or philosophical reasons. However, an exemption form must be signed by parents/guardians. Please ensure that your child’s immunizations or exemption form is on file with the school if you have received a letter from our Health Services team.
