As you may know, last week was Santa Rita’s annual STEM Expo and what a great event it was! We had nearly 70 projects created and displayed with over 100 students participating. Some chose to do individual projects while others chose to work in pairs. Every participant had the opportunity to present their project to adult Reviewers during the school day. I would like to thank our STEM IST, Grace Choi, Sarah Gerlinger from our Curriculum and Instruction Department, Kelly Sanders Lo, our PTA President/parent volunteer/coordinator and the following helpers and guest reviewers…

Because California funding doesn’t provide enough for a well-rounded education, every year, LAEF starts at $0 and raises funds from parents and the community to fund teachers and programs for STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts.
This school year, your donations to LAEF are hard at work funding these Santa Rita teachers and programs:
PE: Ms. Conrad, Mr Cerecedes. Music: Mr. Braun, Mr. Chan, Ms. Dahl, Ms. Lee, Mr. Locsin.
Library: Ms. Williams. Computer Science: Mr. Marquis, Ms. Schroeder. STEM events and projects in and out of the classroom. The Art Docents program, Mental Health counseling, and the Parent Education Speaker Series.
We still need to raise $290K to fully fund this school year. Help provide an excellent education at Santa Rita by making a tax-deductible contribution to LAEF, if you have yet to donate this school year. Gifts of any amount are appreciated and make a difference.
We are looking for representatives from Santa Rita to serve on the LAEF Board for the 2024-25 school year. Join a fantastic group of parents representing each of our nine LASD schools. If you are interested in learning more about this important opportunity, please reach out to your Santa Rita LAEF Board representatives at SantaRitaReps@LAEFonline.org.
