FOND FAREWELLS AND A WARM WELCOME
We will fondly say farewell to Mr. Brian Leneghan and Mr. Joe Vadini at the end of this school year as they both have decided to retire from education.
Please join me in thanking Mr. Leneghan and Mr. Vadini for their dedication to our school and for their service at SJJ. We wish them both a wonderful and happy retirement!
We welcome SJJ Alum Shannon Powers as a first grade aide!
Miss Powers is a 2015 graduate of SJJ and 2019 graduate of Strongsville High School. She has always loved working with children and spent many summers babysitting and volunteering at Vacation Bible School at St. Joseph Church. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 2023, and just completed her first year as a preschool teacher. She is excited to start next week as Mrs. Driscoll's first grade aide!
"I am excited to meet the SJJ first graders and their families and to call SJJ my professional home," she said.
RECYCLE THOSE ECLIPSE GLASSES
A representative from the "Daughters of the American Revolution" organization, who also is part of Saint John Neumann's LifeTeen, has partnered with us in an eclipse project.
The project is simple: students, families, and faculty/staff may bring in any leftover eclipse glasses for donation. At the end of the month, these glasses will be donated to South America, where a total eclipse will occur in October.
These glasses may be brought to the office, where they will be collected until the representative picks them up next week.

ENRICHMENT GUIDELINES DEFINED FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
Under the direction of Mrs. Francis, a team of SJJ math and ELA teachers came together to audit the school's current enrichment class criteria and worked together to better define the guidelines used for the selection process, grading, and purpose of the courses. The committee wrote the below document to assist our educators in determining the enrichment class rosters for next year and beyond for students in grades 5-8 and to help families better understand the selection criteria of the ELA and Math enrichment and advanced courses offered at SJJ.
