Welcome to Hisle Elementary!
Happy Monday! I'm Niki Pirndle, and I'm excited to share that I will be the principal of Hisle Elementary. We've been busy behind the scenes hiring staff, meeting students, and learning more each day about our amazing building.
I've been in education for almost three decades and a campus administrator for 15 years. I've been married to Mark for 32 years and have lived in Austin since 2000. Mark and I have three children: Drew, Meagan, and Ryan. Drew is married to Rachel, and they have two beautiful children. Mark and I absolutely love being "Nan" and "Moe." Meagan and Isaiah live in Dallas living their best life! Our youngest child, Ryan, passed away at the age of 24, and we honor him each year on his birthday by supporting the local FFA chapter, buying a library book for the campus, and eating barbeque! Mark and I are loving our adult phase of life by playing board games, traveling, finding fun date places, and spending time with our family!
I'd love to take this opportunity to introduce you and your family to our office team that will support your child and family!
- Marcia Fields, Assistant Principal: Marcia is currently the assistant principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary, and she comes to us with 6 years as a campus administrator along with mulitple years as a classroom teacher and instructional coach! She has been married for 21 years. Her husband, Michael, is a firefighter. They have one son, Mason, who is a student at Leander High School!
- Renata Isaac, Counselor: Renata is currently the counselor at Wells Branch in RRISD. She's relatively new to the role, and she's got a calm demeanor AND a we've got this attitude! Ms. Isaac recently got married in October of 2023, and she and her husband are currently finishing their graduate degrees!
- Megan Woodward, Instructional Coach: Megan is currently the reading specialist at Camacho Elementary. She works as the team lead, supports tier one reading instruction AND coordinates all Response to Intervention. She's been a teacher for multiple years and in multiple grades before working as a reading specialist. Ms Woodward is married, and they have three elementary age children. Her husband teachers PE in a nearby district, and they stay busy
Read on to learn more about the campus, voting for a mascot, and mark your calendars NOW for a few special events already on our Hisle calendar! Please feel free to reach out to introduce yourself or ask questions. We're looking froward to the next few months as Hisle Elementary becomes a reality!
Our Color Board: Tile, Paint, Carpet and More!
The building is coming along nicely, and we meet every two weeks to talk all things construction! Can I tell you how much I'm learning? You can see the four color of tiles with matching paint.
Logo, Mascot, and Colors!
On Friday, April 12th, Ms, Fields and I met with all chidlren zoned to attend Hisle Elementary at Bagdad and Plain! It was fun to listen to the students talk with one another about what color and mascot were the best. At the end of each assembly, the students voted for color and mascot!
DRUMROLL, PLEASE! Our children OVERWHELMING chose light blue and navy as our colors! As far as mascot, this is where we need your help! There are four choices: hounds, hedgehogs, hurricanes, and hornets! Hounds were a slight winner with 40% and the others were evenly split! We're asking each family to consider the four options and sample mascots to vote over the next week! You can vote here by Monday, April 22nd.
Once voting ends, we will finalize our mascot to share at a community event on May 2nd. We will also have inaugral t-shirts, school supply packs, yearbooks, and a "Meet the Staff" walkway! Looking forward to our mascot reveal at Bledsoe Park on Thursday, May 2nd!
