Thank You Community!
March 1, 2024
Dear Buck Families,
On behalf of the Buchanan Community Schools Board of Education, students, and staff, we extend our gratitude to the entire Buchanan Community Schools area for the resounding success of the recent operating and sinking fund millage renewals.
Thanks to your support, the operating millage renewal ensures that we can maintain essential programs like band, athletics, and curriculum initiatives, enriching the educational experiences of our students. Additionally, the renewal of the sinking fund empowers us to address critical facility repairs, ensuring safe and conducive learning environments for all.
Your support is a testament to your commitment to the success and well-being of our students, and we are deeply honored by the trust you have placed in us to steward these tax dollars responsibly.
Thank you once again for your incredible support and belief in our schools. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and provide the best possible educational opportunities for every student in our community.
Educationally yours,
Patricia L. Robinson

Parent Perception Survey
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Our district will be participating in the pilot testing of a new survey called the MI Student Voice Parent/Guardian Perception Survey on February 23, 2024. The survey will close on March 8, 2024. Topics covered in the survey fall into five categories: Interpersonal Relationships, Parent Involvement & Support, Parental Satisfaction, School Climate, and Belonging.
Additionally, students in grades 6th, 7th, 9th, and 12th are taking the MI Student Voice Perception Survey, which will capture information about their school experience, focusing on the areas of Engagement, Belonging, and Social- Emotional Learning. Our school educators will also be participating in a survey regarding their school experiences. We believe that using these surveys will allow our district to have a more holistic approach to improving measures of school quality in our school improvement plans.
The Parent/Guardian Perception Survey can be completed online using a computer, tablet, or mobile device. The anonymous survey is designed to protect your privacy and the privacy of your student(s). The survey has under 50 questions and is expected to take approximately 10 minutes or less to complete. You may access the survey using this link.
While participation is voluntary, we encourage all parents/guardians to take part in the survey, as we hope to gather meaningful information about your experiences.
The school district will utilize the data collected in the survey to inform important decisions for the district.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Patricia L. Robinson
