Estimadas familias de James John,
Al terminar abril y comenzar el mes de mayo, me gustaría recordarles a las familias que este es un momento del año que puede ser estresante para los estudiantes. Las necesidades de los estudiantes aumentarán y, en ocasiones, pueden conducir a comportamientos que parecen fuera de lugar. Por lo tanto, les pido que recuerden a sus hijos nuestras expectativas escolares de ser seguros, responsables, respetuosos y amables. Pídale a sus hijos que le enseñen lo que significa seguir estas expectativas en nuestra escuela y lo que han aprendido sobre nuestras expectativas este año. Agradecemos su apoyo en este esfuerzo y mientras esperamos el próximo año escolar, nosotros y el personal trabajaremos para definir estas expectativas aún más para nuestra comunidad en general.
Las pruebas estatales comienzan el próximo lunes, recuerde asegurarse de que sus pequeños duerman lo suficiente el domingo por la noche. Queremos que nuestros estudiantes brillen y muestren todo el gran aprendizaje que han realizado este año. Una charla de ánimo también les ayudaría a sentirse bien con respecto a las pruebas. ¡Gracias!
¡Llegando pronto! A mediados de mayo, nuestro increíble PTA de James John organizó una Noche de restaurante en nuestro pub local McMenamins St. Johns. El lunes 13 de mayo de 2024, nuestra PTA se asoció con nuestro pub St. Johns McMenamins para crear una velada especial donde 50% de las ganancias se donarán a nuestra PTA en apoyo de nuestros estudiantes! ¡Qué! ¡Eso es genial!
Nota: Esta recaudación de fondos solo se aplica a pedidos para cenar en el lugar, NO recogida o entrega. Una advertencia es que queremos intentar escalonar las citas para la cena para no abrumar al personal de cocina. Si todos llegan a las 5 p. m., tomará mucho tiempo conseguir su comida y habrá muchos niños infelices, así que planifique en consecuencia para asegurarse de que usted y sus pequeños no tengan que esperar demasiado.
Además, reúne a tus amigos sin niños para que visiten el pub de 8:00 p.m. a 11:00 p.m., sabiendo que pueden comer y tomar una bebida por una gran causa.

Dear James John Families,
As we finish April and begin the month of May, I would like to remind families that this is a time during the year that can be stressful for students. Student needs will increase and at times can lead to behaviors that seem out of character. Therefore, I ask that you please remind your kiddos about our schoolwide expectations of being safe, responsible, respectful and kind. Please ask your children to teach you about what it means to follow these expectations at our school and what they have learned about our expectations this year. We appreciate your support in this effort and as we look forward towards next school year, we/staff will be working to define these expectations even further for our wider community.
State testing begins this coming Monday, please remember to make sure your little ones get plenty of sleep Sunday night. We want our students to shine and show off all the great learning they have done this year. A pep talk would also help them feel good about testing. Thank you!
Arriving soon! This mid May - our amazing James John PTA arranged a Restaurant Night at our local McMenamins St. Johns Pub. On Monday May 13th, 2024 our PTA partnered with our St. Johns McMenamins Pub to create a special evening where 50% of proceeds will be donated to our PTA in support of our students! What! That’s AWESOME!
Note: This fundraiser only applies to dine in orders, NOT pick up or delivery.
One word of caution is that we want to try to stagger dinner appointments so we don't overwhelm their kitchen staff. If everyone shows up at 5pm, it will take a long time to get your food and there will be a lot of unhappy kiddos, so plan accordingly to ensure you and your littles do not have to wait too long.
Also, rally your friends without kids to visit the pub from 8pm to 11pm, knowing they can eat and have a beverage for a great cause.
