Congratulations to Mr. Tyson
As you've read, Mr. Tyson recently announced his promotion to Executive Principal for LCPS. There are not sufficient words to thank Mr. Tyson for his endless support of our students, staff, and community, so we will simply say: thank you, best always, and "we love you - have a great day on purpose!"
Assistant Principals
April 1-5 is National Assistant Principals Week! We are thankful for the hard work of Ms. Ausel, Ms. Kinzer, Ms. Sargeant, and Mr. Wright as they support both students and staff in our school.
End of Quarter
April 4 marks the end of the third quarter. Please ensure that your student has completed what they can and are set for a strong final week before moving into the last quarter of this school year!
Order your graduation lawn sign for seniors in the class of 2024!
Counseling
For SENIORS and their parents -- If you are college bound or planning to attend Northern Virginia Community College or any trade school, you will be REQUIRED to complete the FAFSA.
The FAFSA opens on December 31, 2023. Since the FAFSA is opening so late this year due to revisions, you should try to complete the form within the first two weeks of January (not required, but strongly encouraged). Your student will not receive a Financial Aid Package from whatever school they get admitted to until the FAFSA has been submitted.

PTSA
REGISTER NOW: MOCK DIGITAL SAT ON APRIL 20
What if a $25 practice SAT could help your student get into their college of choice? Would you want them to miss it? There is no better way for students to improve their scores than to practice! For just $25, students can take a full-length practice SAT exam with Huntington Learning Center on Saturday, April 20 at 9 a.m. in the JCHS cafeteria. Since the scores are not reported, this is a risk-free opportunity. All proceeds go to the Champe PTSA, which supports our students, teachers, and community.
Register now at http://south-riding.huntingtonhelps.com/practicetest/3456! Only 50 seats are available for this session.
Parents - join Huntington Learning Center on Thursday, April 25 at 6:15 p.m. in the JCHS cafeteria to discuss the new digital SAT and how to analyze the results of the comprehensive score report that students will receive after the exam.

Is your student looking to serve as a leader? We are launching a new opportunity for rising 9th, 10th, and 11th graders to become Student Committee Representatives to the PTSA Executive Board. As a PTSA Student Committee Representative, those selected will have the opportunity to:
Be an active member of the Board - a unique resume addition!
Share their ideas with the Board and help bring them to life.
Survey their grade-level peers and voice ideas and opinions on topics that will help the Board plan events and activities.
Assist in planning PTSA-sponsored events, including organizing student volunteers and encouraging participation from fellow students.
Participate in the annual Membership drive and encourage classmates and their families to join PTSA.
We are now accepting applications for rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
