Pops of lush green smeared across canvas, swirls of licorice black and snow white dancing together, globs of ocean blue dribbling down fingertips and bringing the Springtime sky to life behind furry, gray-muted lambs…these are a few of the magical images one could see when Ms. Kelton’s class visited The Creative Arts Center in Bonham for a painting class on Tuesday.
Under the studio lights, one could find Mrs. Sandy Barber and The Creative Arts Center Team along with staff from Ms. Kelton’s class eagerly assisting students with painting, mixing colors or wiping smeared paint from cheeks perched at the tips of huge smiles. Students, under the direction of Art Teacher, Mrs. Blackwell, focused on their individual creativity and building their self esteem through the accomplishment of their painting. Students had a fabulous time creating unique masterpieces and hopefully learned that the willingness to try is success itself! Ms. Kelton, TRAILS students and staff greatly appreciate Mrs. Sandy Barber and the awesome team at The Creative Arts Center for cultivating a sensory-rich environment specifically for our class and for the positive and super-rewarding Art experience.
