DMS Miniboat Update
April 12, 2024
Week 12
Crew members showed up on the Friday leading into Vacation!
Hull and Keel team
The four team members took paint brushes to the hull and keel. They painted the first coat of antifouling paint this afternoon. It will dry over the vacation week and they will add one more coat.
Sail Team
The team members began drawing the selected designs on a paper replica sail. Once their replica is complete, they will transfer the design to the sail itself.
Media Team
Team members documented the crew's accomplishments. They also jumped in to help out where needed. All photos each week are credited to the members of this team.
Tech Team
All members of this team made great progress today. They figured out how to connect all sensors to the sensor box and powered it up! Our battery light blinked blue 4 times which indicated full battery power.
Deck Team
Members of the Deck team completed the colors on the deck design. Once the hull and keel have dried, the deck team will get to work on their designs. They have chosen to represent the sports and activities our students can participate in here at DMS.
Launch Team
Now that the launch letter is out, the members of the Launch team started to draft the introduction for our website. Our website will be up and functional soon. It will document our journey to get Anita (our miniboat) in the water. Once she has begun her travel, the website will report the data she collects and
