WAEOPP Student Leadership and Advocacy Summit 2024

Be among the first 10 UBMS students to sign up for this event. It is a statewide event designed for participants in TRIO programs (SSS, McNair, UBMS, UB, ETS, EOC, and VUB). Students will learn about advocacy, telling their TRIO story, leadership skills, careers in public service, and receive a Capitol tour. This event will take place Saturday, April 6th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with registration starting at 9:30.

UBMS Staff will be in attendance with you. This event is FREE for you to attend. UBMS will provide food and transportation.

Can't Make It to After School Connections?

If you can't make it to After School Connections, but you still need our help please let us know! We can arrange a time for you to meet with us and/or a mentor to get the help you need. Whether you need help with classes, college prep, or something personal; we are here to help!! Please feel free to reach out to us anytime via email, text, and/or Snapchat.

After School Connections

After School Connections will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 5:15pm. As always there will be transportation from your school to Marian. If needed a taxi can pick you up after After School Connections is done and take you home.

After School Connection will be held in the Science Building in Room 104.

Communicating Attendance for After School Connections

Students, it is important that we know if you plan to come to After School Connections each Tuesday and Thursday. When we find out last minute that you will or won't be attending it can cause issues for transportation. We have to notify the taxis ahead of time, so knowing if you will be needing a taxi to Marian is crucial.

That being said, it is important that every Tuesday and Thursday preferably before 2:00pm that you let us know via Google Voice, Email, or if needed SnapChat if you will be coming or won't be coming.

Transportation

If you need transportation from Marian going home after Afterschool Connections, please let Tori know as well as another staff member if possible ahead of time via the UBMS Text Number.

Be responsible by watching for your taxi starting at 5:10 p.m. The transportation staff have a tight schedule and cannot wait for you. If you miss your taxi there is no guarantee that we will be able to send you another taxi and get you home.

While some of us may see messages during non work times, please remember that our work schedule is 8:00-4:00. If you text us late at night, we may not see it until the morning. Try your best to communicate your needs in advance.

The next best way to communicate with us is through email. This is better for information which is not time sensitive.

Remember, if you tell us something in person that is important, you need to follow-up with an email.

Please DO NOT use Snapchat or social media to communicate important information. We may share from time to time on SM, but your primary contact should be via text or email.
