A Note from Mrs. Ditto
Hello OHE Families!
I can't believe it is already spring! The year is going by so quickly! With spring comes unpredictable weather. It may start out cold in the morning and be really warm by the afternoon. Please keep an eye on the weather and help our students dress appropriately. If your student brings a jacket, please make sure it has their name inside it somewhere. This time of year, our lost and found overflows. If you need to come in and look at our lost and found, please stop by the office and we will get you taken care of. The end of school also gets super busy with field trips and field days and testing and all the things. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us!
Shine Bright,
Mrs. Lynette Ditto
Attendance Matters
TARDIES:
My 3rd quarter challenge for students and parents was to reduce the amount of morning tardies. For the 2nd quarter, we had 620 morning tardies. For the 3rd quarter, we had 634 morning tardies. Let's see if we can lower that number for the 4th quarter!
When students come in late, they miss important information and feel rushed throughout their day. Being at school on time sets our students up for success! We begin morning announcements at 7:55 (8:55 on Mondays). Classes begin immediately after the announcements at 8:00 (9:00 on Mondays).
Testing season is here! It is important that students be at school on time during testing. Once a testing session has started, students will not be allowed to go to class until the testing session is over.

Shine Assembly Information
Each month there is a Shine Assembly at OHE. During this assembly, we are recognizing and celebrating students for demonstrating the characteristics on the Profile of an OHE Student. These characteristics are the same as the characteristics on the Profile of a RSD Graduate, but they have adapted for elementary students. Teachers spend time talking about the characteristics and the importance of developing these qualities both for now and for the future. Teachers nominate students who demonstrate one of the qualities in an exemplary way. Students receive stars to put on a carabiner on their backpacks. We try to have a special guest present the stars each month.
