March 2024
From the Office
Hello Wells Families!
It is hard to believe, but we have started our 4th quarter of the school year. Please be on the look out for the 3rd quarter report cards to come home on Wednesday, March 27th. We have several exciting things to look forward to in the 4th quarter. Our students will experience an assembly, the spring concert, a book blast and lunch on the lawn! More communication will be shared with each of you as the dates approach.
A huge shout out to all of the families that have completed the 5 Essential Survey. Time is running out if you intend to complete the survey. The survey helps the building leadership team reflect on what is going well and what areas are in need of improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Emails and messages have been sent out to all families with a link for parents to take the 5 Essential Survey. To take the survey, please go to http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ . The survey will be open until March 29th.
Thank you!
Important Dates
Have You Heard?
Wells has implemented a VIP lunch table. Students are nominated by classroom teachers for consistently following our Family Agreements. Our Family Agreements are to be respectful, responsible and safe in all areas of the school building and on school buses. Students will be presented a certificate along with sitting on the stage at the special VIP table with other VIP students. From time to time, the VIP lunch table will have special guests from our school district and community. March 22nd was our very first VIP lunch. The students were visited by two top notch former students of Wells! How cool is that? We are very proud of our VIP students and appreciate their commitment to our Family Agreements!
State Testing is Upon Us
Our 3rd and 4th graders will be taking the state assessment (IAR) starting March 26th. The assessment is composed of 2 ELA and 3 Math assessments. These assessments will be spread out throughout the next two weeks. The assessments will start as early as 8:45am. Students that arrive after the assessment begins will not be able to start the assessment at that time and will have to make up the test at a later day and time.
We ask our students to:
- Get a good night's sleep
- Come to school on time
- Eat breakfast
- Have their devices fully charged
- Have earbuds or headphones
- Try their best
