Atlas' Canvas
Hi Everyone! Atlas here!
It was wonderful getting to see all of you at the Official Visit on Saturday, especially Hope Shines which has now been officially constituted as an assembly! I am so proud of all the girls who said their parts and participated in the official visit, and I am especially excited to welcome six whole new members into Rainbow! Along with the two girls from Summerville, and one from West Columbia- we have initiated nine girls this month! I am happy that Rainbow has a real place in our lives, and hope to see it grow and flourish even more in the months ahead.
Do you know where Waldo is? Keep a look out for where he’s headed next! Don’t forget to be on the lookout for our polos, term pins, chocolate sales, and our upcoming Christmastime sales!! Please let Ashley know how many cases of chocolate your assembly is willing to sell.
Speaking of chocolate, have a Spookley Halloween!
And speaking of Spookley, the courtesy at the official visit was an excellent anti-bullying message and encapsulates our motto and watchword of kindness.
Kindness is something incredibly important to our year, and to us as members of Rainbow. The smallest act of kindness can change someone’s life, even if at the moment they seem so trivial. Every time you choose kindness bears incredible significance.
Remember, you are God's masterpiece!
~Atlas & Ashley <3
Notes from the Heart
Hello South Carolina Rainbow Family!
Our Grand Year is well underway. While we have enjoyed some exciting events, there are many more to come. Ashley has some wonderful plans and I hope that you will be a part of them!
Ashley’s plans include her challenging Ritualistic Program. Our Rainbow Girls are encouraged to proficiently present any two Bow Stations for the Novice Level, an additional two Bow Stations for the Intermediate Level, and the other three Bow Stations for the Advance Level (aka Super Seven). I do hope that all Rainbow Girls will participate—not just to get prizes from the prize box (and there are some great prizes in that box), but for another very important reason.
Part of our mission as a youth organization is to prepare girls for “responsible and purposeful adulthood through character and leadership development.” The lessons of our Bow, while over 100 years old, are still relevant for today. They teach seven ideals that are profoundly important to character development for “purposeful adulthood.” But the only way that these lessons can have a life-changing effect on our Rainbow Girls is for them to learn them; not only to memorize them, but to understand what they mean. It may be productive to schedule time with your Assembly to have some discussion about the meaning of just one Bow lecture and how it applies to our everyday lives. That would provide seven very important discussions that may benefit everyone who participates.
Each of us begins our lives as a blank canvas and our experiences throughout life provide brushstrokes on that canvas. Rainbow can provide the positive experiences to create the most colorful of paintings. Our work as a Rainbow Family is to “create a masterpiece” of each girl and adult associated with South Carolina Rainbow. One way we can do so is by giving careful attention to the meaning of each of our beautiful colors.
With Ritual in hand to learn more about our Bow,
Mrs. Dedra
Where is Waldo?
Thank you for taking me to OES meetings, Pledge meetings, Rainbow meetings, the Constitution, the first OV of our year, and serving for the OES! I do enjoy my time with you!
This month my adventures took me from Greenwood to the Constitution of Hope Shines, from North Augusta, I went to Harmony Assembly and attended a meeting and they took me with them to Newport for the Official Visit of Faith & Hope District. India rescued me after the Official Visit and I traveled to Hartsville Masonic Lodge and then over to Sumter to Iris OES for a Dinner where the Rainbow Girls were serving, now I am waiting to see where Dentsville takes me next!
I've traveled 372 miles this month! A total of 866 miles! I hope the rest of the herd is traveling too! My adventures have been lots of fun so far and I can't wait to visit all of the Assemblies. Make sure to take lots of photos with me when I do visit so that we can share our adventures!

Supreme Assembly 2024
The Road leads to Hampton, VA for 2024!
If you start in October bringing $50 to each meeting through May and depositing it into your Assembly account, you would have $800 saved for the trip. Or if you start now and bring $40 and save through the first meeting in July you will also have $800 towards going to Supreme Assembly. Of course, you could also have multi-family yard sales or car washes to help raise the money too.
We would love as many as possible to go to Supreme and we would love to have a Ritual Team to participate! So start saving money and working on your memory work!

Watercolors from West Columbia
It has been a fast and busy month. Alyssa A. and Madyson A. had the honor of serving as officers for the Constitution of Hope Shines Assembly on September 30th. This was a wonderful day full of laughter, tears, and shines. Hope Shines Assembly has worked a long time to become #58. We hope to be traveling back to the assembly to help them initiate some new members.
We had the opportunity to prepare and serve a meal for Cayce Masonic Lodge on Monday, October 2. Addie H, Peyton S., Alyssa A., Madyson A., and Kara W. enjoyed looking at the pictures in the dining room before the meal. We also delivered some treats to the Cayce Fire Department that evening.
West Columbia has a new member. Sophia C. joined our assembly at our first meeting in October. We enjoyed having her parents and grandmothers attend the meeting. A special thanks to members of Dentsville and Newport Assemblies, and Kara W. for coming to help with the initiation. You are amazing. We can't forget to thank Mrs. Heather and Mrs. Michelle for bringing the girls to help us.
We are looking forward to the Faith and Hope District Official Visit and our Halloween party at our next regular meeting.
Rainbow Love to all of our sisters, adult workers, and friends.

SCAMM - South Carolina Association of Majority Members
SCAMM is in the beginning stages of a project to assist with funds for scholarships. SCAMM is asking for donations of men’s button-down shirts that can be turned into aprons to keep food off of the young ladies' beautiful gowns. If you have a shirt from someone special, just let us know when the shirt is turned in so we can get that specific apron back to them. We will be gladly accepting men’s button-down shirts at the next few jurisdictional get-togethers like the school of instruction. The aprons will go on sale as soon as the finished products have been created. Please feel free to reach out to Lynn Carter or Heather Kamphaus for any questions or concerns.
Our SCAMM Fall Retreat has been cancelled and other plans are being made for the Spring! Please be on the lookout for dates and information!
