School Info & Updates
STAAR Testing Complete!
Thank you, parents, for your support and understanding as students in grades 3-5 took this year’s STAAR test. We are looking forward to getting the results back and celebrating the growth that our students have had this year. You will be notified when you can view their scores online.
GCISD New and Returning Student Registration
Returning student registration was opened on Monday, April 8. While parents can register up until the first day of school, parents are encouraged to register by Friday, May 17, to help the district gather enrollment numbers as early as possible for planning purposes.
To register a returning student click here. Prior to completing the online registration, students enrolling in pre-kindergarten must have completed a separate online application, which may be found here.
Families who are awaiting a transfer request should register for the campus they are currently zoned for. Transfer requests will be processed at a later date. To view attendance zones, visit our School Maps Online.
New student registration is also open and can be completed here. Students new to the district (including those entering kindergarten) must provide proof of residency, birth certificate, social security number, immunization record, emergency contact numbers, and a report card from the previous school unless enrolling in kindergarten.
Families needing assistance with registration for the 2024-2025 school year should contact the campus registrar. Families who need additional assistance or have specific questions or concerns should contact their campus directly.
For more information, visit GCISD's 2024-2025 registration page.

A Note from the Librarian
The HEB Reads! Kickoff Party returns on Saturday, May 11! Kick off a summer filled with reading at Pennington Field (1501 Central Dr.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The day will be filled with free books, STEM kits, games, entertainment, and more.
Students do not have to be in HEB ISD to participate in the HEB Reads! Summer Reading Challenge. It is a city partnership with the city libraries of Hurst, Euless, and Bedford. When a student registers on BeanStack, it asks them their school and GCISD is an option. ANYONE may attend these fun library programs. They would love to have any GCISD student participate in any way.
Lunch Visitors
Lunch Visitors:
- If you would like to eat lunch with your child, please sign up using the form linked below. We have a limited number of visitor tables set up for each lunch period. Visitors must sit at a designated table with their student only. They may not bring other friends to the visitor table.
- Keeping with our tradition, we will not open the cafeteria to visitors until after September 5th. This allows our students to learn the cafeteria expectations and procedures, as well as make friends at lunch during the first few weeks of school.
- You must bring a valid ID when you come to check in for lunch visits.
- Thank you for your support!
