Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
Today, we celebrated our BHS Career/College Day! Our students participated in some very rich experiences to help expose them to a variety of options as they prepare for their post-secondary plans.
Our freshmen students spent the day at either NKU or Miami University, our sophomores took a LEAP Diagnostic ACT test, our juniors took the ACT, and our seniors had breakfast, participated in Speed Mentoring in partnership with The Clermont County Chamber, and participated in service learning. Make sure you check out some of the photos in this edition of the newsletter to see what our students were doing today!
Next week is the last week before the end of the quarter. Please help your students wrap up any missing assignments so they can go into the fourth quarter in good standing.
Have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

2024-25 FAFSA Update:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2024-25 academic year has undergone many changes, been updated for 2024, and is currently having a "soft launch". The website is up and running, but will be temporarily shut down occasionally for maintenance and updates. Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are at least eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources as they are received.
Here is the link to a short video that explains what the FAFSA is: What is FAFSA?
We have also included the link to a slightly lengthier video that explains the entire FAFSA application process and answers many of your questions: The 2024-2025 Financial Aid Process
The student, as well as the parents/guardians must have their own FSA ID to begin the FAFSA application process. Here is the link to create your FSA ID: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
