Remember, final grades are based upon percentages earned by students each nine weeks and on exams. It's important for students to stay on top of their work and finish the fourth quarter strong. Please reach out to your child's school counselor if you have any questions or concerns about the rest of the school year.

Please keep in mind that Seniors do not walk in the Graduation Ceremony and diplomas are held until all fees/fines are paid in full. You are able to make a payment by check or cash to the East Office; or you can go online to payschoolscentral.com to make a payment. Please call the East Office at 419-998-8002 or email erinr@limashawnee.com with any questions.

The following lists includes important upcoming test dates. Parents, please be mindful of the testing schedule and try to avoid scheduling appointments on these dates.

March 12th: Junior ACT. No school for grades 9, 10, and 12.

April 11th: Part 1 ELA EOC. Testing for all regular and Advanced English 10 students. Students NOT testing are on a 2 Hour Delay and should report at 9:35 am.

April 16th: Part 2 ELA EOC. Testing for all regular and Advanced English 10 students. Students NOT testing are on a 2 Hour Delay and should report at 9:35 am.

April 23rd: Biology, regular US Studies & Government EOC. Testing for all regular and Advanced Biology students. Testing for all students in Government, regular U.S. Studies Course, and AP U.S. History. Students NOT testing are on a 3 Hour delay and should report at 10:35 am

April 25th: Algebra & Geometry EOC. Testing for all Geometry, Foundational Geometry, Advanced Geometry, Algebra 1 and Foundational Algebra 1 students. Students NOT testing are on a 3 Hour delay and should report at 10:35 am

• Get 8-10 hours of sleep the night before a test.
• Eat a healthy breakfast in the morning the day of the test.
• Drink plenty of water; it helps calm your nerves & helps you focus.
• Don't rush the morning of a test, arrive on time to school.
• Read all directions and answer choices before picking an answer.
• Eliminate answer choices you know are incorrect.
• Pace yourself. Move on from challenging questions and go back to them later.
• If you are starting to lose focus, do a quick brain break.
• Don't leave any questions blank.
• Review your answers after completing all of the questions.
• Have a positive attitude.

Apollo Career Center offers more than 20 career-technical programs that take two years to complete. The students have the opportunity to experience hands-on training and college prep academics to prepare students for their futures after high school. Students from eleven area districts attend Apollo , giving students the chance to meet new people, be exposed to a diverse population, and meet peers who share the same goals and interests. To be admitted to Apollo after their 10th grade year, students need a minimum of eight credits: two English credits, two Math credits, one Science credit, one Social Studies credit, and two additional credits (Health, Fine Art, etc.). Students can apply at any time with this application.

Need help on homework? Need help studying for a test? Need help getting caught up? Our NHS students are here to help you! Tutoring tables are every Wednesday after school until 3:30 pm in the GIC at no cost.

As a resource for our students and staff, Ohio Means Jobs Allen County has placed a job coach at Shawnee High School for the academic year. Kyler Washam will be available to meet with students each Tuesday morning from 8:00 -11:30 AM in the high school guidance office. Kyler will periodically work with groups of students in their Ohio Means Jobs Backpacks, and will also be available for any student asking for individual help with resumes, cover letters, job seeking, job shadowing, internships, co-ops, etc. Please contact the guidance office if you have questions or concerns at (419) 998-8004.

A new scholarship was created to benefit our seniors, starting with the Class of 2022: The Lima Shawnee Alumni-Legacy Scholarship Fund. If you are interested in donating to the fund, please click here and follow them on Facebook at Lima Shawnee Scholarship Fund for updates and more information. We appreciate all efforts to pay it forward to our seniors. Thank you for leaving your legacy on our community.

In order to participate in the Commencement Ceremony, seniors must meet all graduation requirements and wear the cap and gown representative of Shawnee High School. Please check with your senior to make sure the appropriate items have been ordered. Stop in the West Office if you need another order form.

Click here to request your transcript to be sent to colleges. Please know your admission deadlines and allow the guidance staff at least two weeks to provide the needed materials to the college.

Please click here to view the schedule of upcoming college representatives visiting SHS this fall. This will continue to change so please refer back to it weekly to stay up to date. Students are officially permitted to attend 5 of these sessions throughout the fall. Students will us the link at the bottom of the form to sign up individually for each rep they want to speak with and pay close attention to the date and time. Students should check with their teacher (unless it's during Connections) ahead of time. We'll be taking attendance at the rep meetings. If students don't sign up ahead of time we will ask that students return to class, and if students do sign up and decide that you don't want to attend, students should email their counselor so we know who to expect. Please stop in guidance if you have questions.
