BEAR CREEK BLAST
April 15-19
Dr. Calvert's Notes:
Bear Creek Families,
This week a long-time wish became a reality! After years of discussions we were finally able to install our bear statue in the front of the school! This was a combined effort of staff, students, parents, and community members! Our amazing BCE PTA were the ones that made this wish a reality! We are so grateful and excited about this new addition to our school!
School Info & Updates
STAAR Testing This Week!
Grades 3-5 will take the Reading STAAR on Wednesday. Grade 5 will take the Science STAAR on Thursday. Visitors are not allowed on campus these days. Below are some tips to help your student have a successful day:
Get plenty of sleep the night before, 8 hours or more is recommended.
Eat a balanced breakfast. Donuts are probably not a great idea these mornings.
Arrive early so your student can get to their testing room without having to rush. BCE doors open at 7:20 am for breakfast and 7:25 am for all other students. School starts at 7:40 am and we will be starting testing as soon as possible.
Make every effort to be in attendance, however, if your child is sick, please keep them home and communicate with our BCE front office. We will have make-up opportunities for all students who miss STAAR testing days.
Participation in STAAR testing is required by state and federal law. For more information please visit https://grapevinecolleyvilleisdtx.sites.thrillshare.com/o/gcisd/page/staar-participation

Lunch Visitors
Lunch Visitors:
- If you would like to eat lunch with your child, please sign up using the form linked below. We have a limited number of visitor tables set up for each lunch period. Visitors must sit at a designated table with their student only. They may not bring other friends to the visitor table.
- Keeping with our tradition, we will not open the cafeteria to visitors until after September 5th. This allows our students to learn the cafeteria expectations and procedures, as well as make friends at lunch during the first few weeks of school.
- You must bring a valid ID when you come to check in for lunch visits.
- Thank you for your support!
