Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week - May 6-9, 2024
Teacher Appreciation Week is described as “a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.” Help make your child's teacher feel appreciated for the countless hours of preparation, many nights of worrying about the lives and choices of their students, and their dedication to making the world more caring and educated.
STAAR Scores and Report Cards
STAAR/EOC Results
Once STAAR and EOC results are given from TEA, the district will send an announcement for you to look in the Ascender Parent Portal for your child's testing results in the https://www.texasassessment.gov/. This short cut takes you to current and previous STAAR/EOC results for your child. Results will not be available in the family portal for parent viewing until July 24, 2024.
If your child does not pass using scores given to the district on May 30, 2024, you will be notified to set up an Accelerated Learning Committee meeting to discuss your child's 15-30 hours of accelerated instruction prior to summer school which is June 10-13, 2024.
Bond 2024 - Last Day to Vote is 5/4

Career Expo @ BHS
BHS is excited to announce our first annual Career Expo! We are teaming up with masters in their field to help students identify what career path is right for them!
Pre-K & Kindergarten
Registration will require the following:
Copy of Birth Certificate
Immunization Record
Social Security Card
Guardianship Papers (if applicable)
Driver’s License
Proof of Residency (utility bill or lease agreement)
Summer School - Please look at dates
Bowie ISD Summer School - June 3-13 (Monday-Thursday)
Classes will consist of the following:
- Credit Recovery for students at BHS who did not earn credit because of attendance or a passing grade.
- Attendance -students that did not meet the 90% rule for attendance will be required to make up time and work during summer school
- STAAR - Students who DO NOT MEET expectations on STAAR will be invited to summer school and receive their 15 or 30 hours of instruction to meet HB 1416 requirements.
- EOC - Students who DO NOT MEET expectations on EOC tests will be invited to a 4 day bootcamp and be ale to retake the test at its conclusion.
Athletic Summer Camps - Mark your calendars
•Individual summer camp flyers are posted on Facebook and in this Newsletter. Packets for each camp will be available at the front desk of each school in the district. We encourage all students to stay active and be involved this summer.
