Senator Listening Center Tomorrow Morning
Our State Senator Lew Frederick will be holding a listening session this Saturday, April 13, at 9am at Broadway Grill (1700 NE Broadway). Please consider attending and sharing how budget cuts will affect your student! Email ptapres@irvingtonschool.com with any questions.
PTA Priority Survey
The goal of Irvington’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is to make every student’s potential a reality. As PTA begins working on the 2024-25 school year budget, we want to hear from families about what areas are most important for PTA to support to reach that goal. We’re especially focused on community building, students’ sense of belonging, and supporting students’ academic success. We have created a PTA Priority Survey in order to collect the opinions of our community members.
All parents & caregivers are encouraged to complete this survey once - individually or as a household. A paper form can be found in your student’s Friday Folder today, or it can be filled out online by clicking here. Please complete the survey by April 26. Paper forms can be returned to the PTA box in the main office.
Spring Photos
Spring photos are Wednesday, April 17. Each class will take a class picture, and any student who needs a make-up photo can take an individual one as well.
Tea with Mr. G.
The next Tea with Mr. G. is next Friday (April 19). The focus will be on our school-wide, one-student-at-a-time bathroom policy. I will send more information in a separate email as we lead up to the event!
Pastini Restaurant Fundraiser Night
Join us Thursday, April 18, for a Pastini Pastathon Fundraiser! Dine in or take out from the 1426 NE Broadway location between 11:30am and 8:30pm and mention Irvington School, and 40% of participating sales will be donated to our school. Check out the menu and click here or call (503) 288-4300 to order. Let the staff know you’re a fundraiser participant when you pick up your food if you order take out, and using 3rd party delivery apps won’t count towards this fundraiser.
Golden Tickets Now on Sale!
Back by popular demand, the Irvington School Auction Golden Tickets are now on sale! One lucky Golden Ticket holder will win an exclusive trip...choose from an all inclusive caribbean getaway, a stunning Sedona retreat, a Las Vegas vacation, or a Southern hospitality package!
How it Works:
>> Buy as many Golden Tickets as you’d like! Each ticket is $100, but there are only 100 Golden Tickets available, so if you snooze, you may lose.
>> We’ll draw one lucky winner at the auction (you don’t have to be present to win).
Field Work
Our school field had much needed work done (seeding, fertilizing and aerating) last Friday, April 5. Thank you for helping take care of the field by staying off it this past week and for another two weeks! The field work is funded by PTA dollars, and we further appreciate your help during this time by keeping dogs on leash, using the asphalt for futsal instead of playing soccer on the grass field, and educating other community members about the field work that was done. Thank you!
Lost and Found
Come find lost items next week! Lost & Found items will be on display under the covered area Wednesday, April 17, at pickup (3:00-3:30) and Friday, April 19, at drop off (8:30-9:00).
A NEW Book Fair Is Coming
A NEW book fair is coming to Irvington April 22, 23 and 24! Come support our school AND a local small business! Jennifer Butler-Brown, a local bookseller, will be hosting our fair after school, which will offer a multi-cultural, diverse collection of books. Look for Spanish and bilingual titles, non-fiction to inspire, graphic novels for all ages, picture books, chapter books, journals by indigenous artists, and next year's OBOB books! 20% of sales will be donated back to our school. Find all the details on the Friday Folder flier coming home with your student today.
This year the Book Fair will be located in Room 102A (across from Ms. Cori’s room). It will be open Monday, April 22, 3:00 - 4:30pm; Tuesday, April 23, 3:00 - 6:00pm; and Wednesday, April 24, 3:00 - 4:30pm.
Can’t make it in person? You can also shop online with free shipping to the school! Be sure to select Irvington so your order is counted towards our fair. Questions? Contact Jennifer at jennifer.butlerbrown@gmail.com or 541-619-3960.
