February HERO of the Month Winners

Another MS State Duals Championship!
Congratulations to the GMS wrestlers who brought home the State Duals Championship this weekend. Representing GMS were Brody Gross, Braxton Knott, Sawyer Breslin, Cooper Breslin, Cade Lensman, Brookes Platfoot, Bazely Simison, Max Shoemaker, Gabe Krieger, Ryan Angel, Aden Snyder, Brigg Rice, Cole Winemiller, Jonas Mannier, Jake Hoke, and Kyler Crooks. The Team defeated Cincinnati Elder (69-18), Columbus DeSales (56-27), Brecksville (59-30), St. Eds (57-37), and then faced Massillon Perry in the state final winning 46-36.
Special Olympics State Champ!
Congratulations to Eli Woodward-Roeth who took home the Gold Medal, winning his heat in the State Finals for the Special Olympic Winter Games this weekend at Bowling Green State University.
Power of the Pen onto Regionals!
All 7th grade members qualified to regionals for the first time in GMS history!
We had Alayna Owens take 3rd overall, Aubrie Campbell take 5th overall, and Kendall Nichols take 6th overall for the 7th grade competitors.
8th grade qualifiers were Adelaide Shearer, Travis Beedy, and Bella Bever (who took 6th place overall in her age group).
The team will compete at Wittenberg University Saturday for a change to return to the state competition.

County Science Fair Success
We have the final results from the Champaign County Science Fair. Earning a superior rating and moving onto the Miami Valley District competition are: Mallorie Erter, Kaydence Harris, Jayna Weinert, Alaina Lockwood, Lily Parke, Mackenzie Crooks, Jacob Ekey, Carly Birchfield, Jenna Johnston, Alice Rogers, and Adelyn Guidera. Also congratulations to Brandon Lockery, Ashley Ekey, Audrie Smith, Carolyn Taylor and Jaxon Espich who received a excellent rating. There are a few cash prizes as well for special awards. Congratulations to Alaina and Lily as well as Jacob who won prize money for their projects in physics, engineering, energy, or material science which earned them $50 prizes. Jayna and Mackenzie both won $50 prizes for their plant science projects. Mallorie and Kaydence also won an award for the best chemistry project and won 2nd place overall, banking them a cash prize total of $100.

Frontline Education has released the ProgressBook Parent and Student Mobile App (aka ParentAccess app) to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This app is available for your parents/students to download and use now. For those that choose to download, the app takes the place of the mobile web version of ParentAccess that parents and students have long used. In addition, Frontline has produced an overview video that can be shared with your users (video link is also in the attached instructional sheet).
