10th Street Middle School Mock Trials
Recently students at Tenth Street Middle School had the incredible opportunity to show off their legal knowledge by participating in a mock trial with community members, school district staff, local elected officials, and courthouse employees serving as judges and jurors.
Across eight courtrooms, 6th-8th grade students worked in teams in a mock legal case regarding the will of a deceased woman. Students acted on either side of the case as witnesses, bailiffs, attorneys, and observers and were rated on their arguments.
A very special thank you to Mayor Jon Nehring, City Council members Kamille Norton and Tom King, Marysville School District Board Director Kristen Michal, Dr. Nathan Plummer, Melanie Floyd, Taryn Dinuis, Juan Cortez, Sandra Madrigal, Voni Walker, Donald Shultz, Adam Weiss, Renee James who served as jurors, and to John Leque, Hannah Marie Barker, Kari Carrillo, Scott Marlow, Daniela Vakulchik, and Claudette Rushing who served as judges.

Cedarcrest Middle School College and Career Fair
Friday, January 26th, Cedarcrest Middle School had its annual College & Career Fair for students to learn about various careers from the people in it, and it was a great success! What an incredible opportunity for our students! Thank you to Ms. Kacee Kukull and the staff at Cedarcrest for organizing this event and to our community partners for attending and helping students think about and prepare for their future.
