Sarah Brown, Pre-K
My name is Sarah Brown and this is my 7th year teaching. I have been married for 7 years to my husband Dusty. We have a 4yr old daughter, Katie. I also have 3 German Shepherds. I taught at Couts Christian Academy for 2 years and WISD for 5 years. I look forward to a wonderful year.
Crystal Hernandez, Pre-K Bilingual
Kendall Chavez, 1st Grade
Hello! My name is Kendall Chavez and I am incredibly excited to be joining the first grade team at Bose Ikard Elementary. My love of working with children began at an early age when my participation in cheerleading presented me with numerous opportunities to coach, tutor and do volunteer work with them.
I am a graduate of Granbury High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2015 from Tarleton State University. I am recently married to a wonderful man, Ramon Chavez Jr., whom I met through our membership on the TSU coed cheer team.
I look forward to being a part of the Ikard family of educators, and contributing to the quality education services provided there.
Julia Flores, 2nd Grade Bilingual
My name is Julia Flores. I will be teaching 2nd grade bilingual and I am so happy to be here. I love reading and science. I have 3 wonderful kids and 1 dog.
Brittny Glidewell, 3rd Grade
My name is Brittny Glidewell and I am thrilled to be teaching third grade at Ikard. I grew up and went to school in Weatherford, and I went to Tarleton State University. I taught second grade for the past six years in Mineral Wells. I have been married for a year to Jeremy and we have a dog named Buddy.
Brandy Murphy, 3rd Grade
Hello my name is Brandy Murphy. My husband's name is Judd and we have been married for 12 years and we have a little girl named Preslee, who will be attending Ikard. I have worked as an inclusion aide/computer lab aide in Weatherford ISD for the last 6 years while completing my teaching degree. This is my first year to teach and I am super excited to start the school year! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I am so excited to join the Ikard family!
Carol Dire, 4th Grade Math
I am very excited and blessed to be a part of Ikard Elementary and Weatherford ISD. This is my 19th year in education. I have taught 6th grade for 4 years, 5th grade for 9 years, and 4th grade for 5 years in all subject areas in Arlington ISD. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Masters Degree in Education and Policy Studies. I have my principal certification, ESL certification, and Elementary certification grades 1-8th. I have 3 amazing children! My oldest daughter works for a finance company, my youngest daughter is a 5th grade teacher in Everman ISD, and my son is currently living in Japan training to make the U.S. Olympic team in Judo. I am honored to work with your children!
Hal Scofield, PIC
My name is Hal Scofield. I will be teaching the PIC (positive intervention) class at Ikard. I started my teaching career late in life after having retired from Investment Banking and business owner.
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching for the past eight years in STEM and Special Education. In Special Education, I worked as a Transition Specialist guiding students to post-secondary education, training, and employment. The STEM was a Lockheed Martin sponsored PLTW program teaching Engineering Design.
Carmon Rike, Resource ELA
My name is Carmon Rike. I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. This will be my second year as a special education teacher and I am very excited for the 2016-2017 school year! I look forward to getting to know the Ikard family. In my free time, I like to read books, make artwork, and play with my cat.
Carla Coffey, Dyslexia Therapist/Specialist
I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist and have been teaching 30 years, 10 of those specializing in dyslexia therapy. I have 3 grown children, 4 grandchildren, 2 cats and 2 granddogs. I attended Weatherford ISD 1st - 12th grade. I earned my Bachelor's degree at the University of North Texas and my Master of Education degree at Texas Woman's University. I received my Certified Academic Language Therapy training at the LEAD Training Center in Literacy Education and Development.
Jennifer Garner, Music/Fine Arts Teacher
I grew up in Mesquite, TX. I was a cheerleader and a barrel racer. I graduated from the University of North Texas. I live in Azle with my husband and twins, Abby and Sam, who are in sixth grade. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat. I love to sing and scrapbook. My favorite place is the beach, and I am terrified of spiders. I like to be called a Diva!
Susannah Smith , Speech Language Pathologist
My name is Susannah Smith and I was born and raised in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. I received my bachelor's degree at Harding University in Searcy, AR and master's degree at the University of Mississippi. I have worked as a speech language pathologist for 16 years. I started working at WISD in the spring of 2013 at Mary Martin Elementary and continued there until 2016. I am now full time here at Ikard and I will also see the students at Hall Middle. I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Elizabeth.
