In addition to the four face-to-face sessions, there are optional Media Academy TL Collaboration meetings. Our next meeting is on Nov. 9 from 3:30-4:15 via Zoom.

In late 2024, Google will discontinue the Jamboard app and its planned support of Google Jamboard devices.

Google states they will provide a retention and migration path for Jamboard data so you don't lose any collaborative work created within your organization. Administrators of impacted Google Workspace customers will receive more detailed information and instructions via email.

They will continue to provide reminders on the Updates Blog throughout the process.

Iowa STEM, in partnership with the Iowa AEAs, is working together to provide 6 mini-sessions through October and early November or a one-day session on Nov. 9, 2023, to share information and STEM BEST design support to local school districts in applying for the next round of STEM BEST Awards. Some research indicates that background music can improve comprehension. Let's try it. Listen to some copyright-free music from Soundzabound (provided to Iowa students and educators) as you read this newsletter. You'll find Soundzabound here or in your MBAEA OneClick launchpad. These are just snippets--most audio is 2-3 minutes.

This monthly sync is intended to create a space to answer any and all Pear Deck related questions. In these syncs, Brittany, from the Pear Deck Team, will use the time to cover Pear Deck updates, dive into features, and highlight teachers in the state of Iowa. This is for all Iowa educators to learn more about Pear Deck, but also to get your questions answered. To add your question or topic to the agenda, complete this form prior to a sync session.

RESILIENCE: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope is a one-hour documentary that delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent Toxic Stress. It would be a valuable professional development tool for families or in secondary classrooms.

This professional book provides a collection of essays from educators, educational researchers, and teacher educators on how to teach children in the digital age how to become critical thinkers, literate citizens, and ethical consumers.

After careful consideration, the AEA Media Directors made the difficult decision to sunset AEA Scout on June 30, 2023. Please note that you will still have access to all of our digital resources individually.

Over the years, AEA Scout has been a valuable tool for our team, providing access to a wide range of digital content and resources. However, evolving market dynamics, shifting user preferences, and emerging technologies have prompted the Media Directors to reevaluate our offerings. As a result, we have decided to focus our efforts on other strategic initiatives that align more closely with the needs of our users and the evolving digital landscape.

I understand that AEA Scout may have become part of your workflow, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly, and we have explored all possible alternatives to maintain the service. Unfortunately, the resources required to sustain AEA Scout at the level of quality and functionality we aspire to are no longer feasible.

Thank you for your trust and support throughout your time using AEA Scout. We remain committed to providing valuable solutions and look forward to assisting you in any way we can during this transition.
