Husky Howler 4/26/24 (Guardians)
We are the PACK!
Smiley Thoughts
PACK Guardians,
Thank the good Lord that STAAR testing is over with! We have a great rest of the year planned including some good academic activities that will engage your children in topics that teachers and students are passionate about. As we still have a month of school left, high quality INSTRUCTION will still be the focus of Hubbard, including getting students ready for the next grade level (vertical alignment). Grades will continue to be input and students held to high standards regarding learning. To help curb student behaviors, administration will be broadcasting to students, and sharing with you now, that discipline referrals resulting in ISS/OSS will prevent students from taking part in end of the year activities including 8th grade recognition, field days, celebration week activities, etc.
Student Behaviors - Did you read the paragraph above? Student referrals resulting in ISS/OSS will prevent students from attending our fun end of the year activities including (but not limited to) 8th grade recognition ceremony, field days, and celebration week activities.
Volunteers needed! - We need 7th grade guardian volunteers for our 7th grade social coming up on Tuesday,!
Tennis - Is your child interested in Tennis? If so, you need to attend the Tennis informational meeting at the Tyler Legacy cafeteria on May 7th. Due to the conflict with the new building ribbon cutting, Coach Sizemore will start at 5:30pm for the Hubbard Huskies!
***REPEATS***
6th grade guardians - A new opportunity is coming to Hubbard this year, Family Circle of Care Health Center will be hosting a Vaccine event day May 2 from 9 am - 2 pm. Please take advantage of this immunization clinic. Information packets will be distributed in the next 2 weeks to those students who need it. Completed forms must be returned to the school nurse to ensure that your student has a spot during the immunization clinic. You do not have to be present for your child to receive these required vaccines. Please contact the school nurse at 903-262-1567 or email eleanor.olivares@tylerisd.org if with any questions. This will help our incoming 7th grade students to be in compliance to get the required Tdap and MCV4 vaccination before August 14, 2024.
Physicals - May 1st Tyler ISD will have a free physical day. We will bus students to the Brookshire's center. This is for incoming 7th graders (current 6th) and incoming 9th graders (current 8th). HERE is the flyer.
