February's Topics: Caregiver Support Groups and Summer Activities
Upcoming Resources and Opportunities
Dear Special Education Families,
This month I’m covering three topics ~new Princeton support groups for caregivers this spring, support groups that exist for specific disabilities, and summer camp possibilities to investigate if interested. Read on for more.
Launching Princeton Caregiver Support Groups in March
I recently sent an email to all special education families using the contact email given on enrollment forms. In the email, I asked if Princeton caregivers would be interested in support groups and also asked about timing and if people preferred virtual or in-person.
The results showed me there is an interest, and that offering a few times and methods would reach the most people. Starting in March and going through May, we will have 3 caregiver support groups per month - 2 virtual and 1 in-person. More information will be emailed soon and I look forward to connecting with you!
Other Support Groups in Our Community
Additionally, there is caregiver support available through local disability-specific groups if that feels more comfortable. Whatever way you choose, I hope you feel supported when you need it.

For Those Interested in Summer Camp Ideas
As you start your summer planning, take a look at these two camp lists.
(Provided for information only.)
The Cincinnati Enquirer has a 2024 list of camps in the area. Some are for special needs and others can accommodate special needs when requested. Reach out directly to a camp to find out about special needs access and scholarship availability.
The Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services will soon update their camp list as well. In the meantime, their list from last year can give you ideas for 2024.
