'Dawg Deets: HISD's Daily News

Thank you for being vigilant, team!
Yesterday, an incident occurred involving one of our elementary aged students who brought a BB gun onto a school bus. The BB gun, which closely resembled a real firearm, was promptly identified by our vigilant transportation team, who immediately alerted HISD PD. Thanks to the swift action of our officers, along with the alertness of our bus drivers and monitors, the BB gun was quickly and safely secured from the student. We want to assure our Hitchcock ISD family that the safety and security of our students and staff are our highest priorities. Immediate steps were taken to address the situation, and appropriate actions are being taken in response to this incident. Let's use this as a reminder to help promote the anonymous tip line for our students who see something, to feel comfortable saying something.
