PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
I'm delighted to share that our recent Eagle Crest Bike Fest was an incredible success! With over 100 families participating at different times throughout the afternoon, the event was a testament to the strength of our community and the joy of coming together for shared experiences. As a community, we witnessed not only the building of connections among neighbors but also the strengthening of our neighborhood bonds. Moreover, we're thrilled by the evident improvement in bike skills among attendees of all ages.
Of course, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and our PTO who dedicated their time and effort to make the Eagle Crest Bike Fest a resounding success. Your hard work and commitment are deeply appreciated and we couldn’t have done it without you. A special appreciation goes out to Lisa Evans, our Eagle Crest grandma and Bike Wiz, whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in orchestrating this event.
As we look ahead, I'm excited to share some upcoming events:
Eagles Can Code Learning Showcase: Join us on May 13th from 3:30 to 4:30 PM to witness the incredible coding skills of our students.
End of Year Family Picnic and Music Festival: Mark your calendars for May 23rd at 11 AM, the last day of school, for our beloved family picnic and choir concert. See more information about this event below.
We look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events as we continue to celebrate our community spirit and shared achievements!
Warmly,
Amanda
PS- We have two pet turtles that were formerly class pets and were “fostered” at a staff member’s home for the last school year. They are officially up for adoption and come with all of their supplies. If you would like them, please email Sara, karstens_sara@svvsd.org for more information.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT NEEDED - GARDENING
Are you a gardener? Can you help us? We are very grateful that the district set up irrigation for the gardens by the 4th grade classrooms!! We are in search of a few volunteers to help us finish the irrigation system. If you know how to connect drip irrigation lines to the nozzle that is installed and are available to help with this project, please reach out to Stephanie Potter (potter_stephanie@svvsd.org) or Katy Schwirtz (schwirtz_katherine@svvsd.org). Eagle Crest will purchase all of the necessary materials through our STEM Explorers funding. Thank you!!
2024 - 2025 OPTIONAL CLASS PLACEMENT INPUT
At Eagle Crest, we very much value the support and partnership from families as we work together to provide a thoughtful and well-rounded education in every classroom, every day. When creating classes, staff take into account the academic, social, and behavioral strengths and needs of each student as well as creating balanced classroom communities. We would like to ask families for your thoughts related to your child's strengths and needs in regards to their learning as we determine class placements for next school year. Please Note: we do not accept requests for specific teachers. Please take a few moments to complete this optional survey, which will remain open until April 30th at 4pm.
