Dear LP Families,

I want to make sure I remind you of an upcoming important event. Our district Drug & Alcohol Counselor, Amanda Knipfing in collaboration with the American Lung Association and Uplift Irondequoit have put together an event called: Nicotine & Vaping 101 for our school community. Families will get to learn more about nicotine use and vaping in our youth community, ask questions, and learn more about prevention. I know my husband and I are planning to attend so that we can better support our two teenagers! I hope to see many of you there! See the flyer below for more info.

Also, a reminder that our science fair is coming up on March 8th. Students will need to drop their presentation materials and boards off to school on March 7th. This will be your last weekend to put everything together!

In case you hadn’t heard the news, we’re doing a yearbook again this year! The yearbook is looking to celebrate current LP 5th graders as they conclude their elementary career and begin the next chapter of their schooling! 5th grade families have the opportunity to send in a baby picture of their child to be added to the yearbook with a short message (50 words or less) to their child. Who: This only applies to current LP 5th graders When: Picture/message/money due by Thursday, March 28. Cost: Due to limited space in the yearbook, there may only be 1 picture per student. The cost is $5 (exact cash only) to be sent in to school in a bag/envelope labeled with your child’s name. This money will be used for fun activities at the 5th grade end-of-year picnic. Where: Please send digital copies of the message/photo to Mrs. Antonelli at jantonelli@eastiron.org If you don’t get a confirmation email in 2 school days, please reach out again. Please send the money in at the same time you email your picture. Please reach out with any questions.

LP Book Fair!

Our spring book fair will take place Monday, March 4th through Friday, March 8th. Students will have an opportunity to shop during the day but also during our science fair night event @ 7:00pm.
