BOARD RECOGNITION
President Rotter recognized April as the Month of the Military Child and Volunteer Appreciation month. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for both our military families and the volunteers that support our district.
POLICY NEWS:
Two procedure updates were provided to the board and approved:
- 3207P- Procedure for Prohibition of Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying of Students
- 2022P- Procedure: Use of Personal Electronic Devices
Other Business:
- The board approved Resolution 2023/2024-16 proclaiming April Month of the Military Child
- The board approved Resolution 2023/2024-17 proclaiming April 2024 as Volunteer Appreciation Month
- The board approved Resolution 2023/2024-18; Unlimited Tax General Obligations Bonds, 2024

Students have the opportunity to represent your community and a chance to become part of the prestigious 2024 Armed Forces Festival as a Community Ambassador. The Bremerton Central Lions Charitable Foundation Ambassadors Scholarship program is not just about the five $1,000 scholarships it awards for education. It’s about the life-changing experiences it offers. All finalists are provided opportunities to gain self-confidence, improve public speaking and social skills, meet civic, business, and political leaders, and develop the skills necessary for success in future endeavors.
Pacific Education Institute Advanced Field Investigations 102 workshop
Join the Pacific Education Institute for our brand-new Advanced Field Investigations 102 workshop, complete with the opportunity to earn a $75.00 stipend and 6 STEM clock hours.
In this two-part NGSS-aligned virtual learning experience, participants will discover how thoughtful field investigation design can be used to hone phenomena observation, data collection, and data communication with students. You will collaborate with fellow educators and learn from a regional expert, exploring the phenomenon of wildfire in Washington state as an example of how place-based connections can engage students in relevant learning experiences.
The workshop consists of two virtual sessions with asynchronous work between, and a final implementation assignment. Session One will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on March 30th. Session Two is from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on May 21st. To be eligible for the $75.00 stipend, you must attend both virtual sessions and complete all asynchronous work.
