Take Home Tuesday November 14th
Be Responsible. Be Respectful. Be Safe.
"Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy." Matthew 25:23
No matter how old I get, every time I would go to leave my parents' home, my dad's words would always be, "Keep me proud." Those words echo in my mind as we look toward the Gospel reading for this coming weekend. We typically hope to do well, accomplish goals, and show how responsible we can be with all sorts of obligations. I constantly witness this in our classrooms, hallways and gym each day as our kids strive to be more responsible, respectful and safe in order to be a "good and faithful servant" of the Lord we aim to glorify.
At times, we fall VERY short of good and faithful and do not take care of the "small matters" He mentions. But the most important part is what we do next. Hopefully, we regain our composure and focus, and look to do the next RIGHT thing. We try (again) to keep Him proud, show Him we are faithful, and that we will be responsible - even with the everyday, mundane tasks we complete with kindness! For we hope to share in true, pure JOY with Him, and to hear our Heavenly Father one day say to us, "Well done."
As we look forward to celebrating the sacrament of Confirmation this weekend, please pray for our 8th grade students who will be saying "yes" to being ambassadors of Jesus Christ as they reaffirm their Baptismal promises. If you would like to write them an encouraging note, there are cards and envelopes available in the Cathedral.
Thankfully Yours,
Mrs. Stoffel
