Kinder Changes

We have decided to consolidate the Kinder classes from 4 to 3. The students from the extra class (previously Mrs. Olsen's class) will be moved into other classes. Since the remaining classes will now be larger, we will have an aide support that grade for the remainder of the year.

Parent Orientation

Thank you to all of the parents that came out to visit with their child's teachers and hear about what will be happening this year in the different grade levels. We always appreciate the opportunity to be face to face with our parents and to try to answer any questions that they might have. We have received positive feedback about the orientations and a couple of recommendations. We will use this feedback in guiding how we will conduct this event next year.

Parent Procedures for Changing Dismissal

If you need to change the way that your child gets home, we ask that you please contact the office to let them know. Parents are welcome to send a note to the office, or they can call the office directly to request a change. The office will send any change requests from parents to the teachers at 3:00 so that teachers can prepare to make the adjustments. Due to the amount of movement surrounding dismissal, and for the safety of the kids, we ask that no changes be requested after 3:00.

For parents that show up to take their child out of school early, we also ask that you do so prior to this busy time at the end of the day. We have teachers that are lining up their classes in the hallways and trying to ensure that students are being separated to go with the correct dismissal group. The last thing that we want is to divert their attention from this process by having them look for a child that is needed to go to the office for a waiting parent.

Principal Chat

Thank you to the parents that were able to attend the first Principal Chat on Thursday morning. There was a lot of good conversation that was had on a variety of topics including safety & security, staffing issues, Leader in Me, and volunteer opportunities. Parents that attended gave great feedback that I will use to guide future meetings. I will send out information on the next meeting once it gets scheduled.
