Professional Development Offerings

The Instructional Technology Support team will hold professional development sessions during the week of June 6th, 2022. Both virtual and in-person sessions will be offered. Below, you will find a schedule overview and specific details for each course.

To register for a course, please use the course catalog available in Eduphoria: Strive. Registration is open until Wednesday, June 1st. Meeting links for virtual sessions will be emailed to attendees the day before their scheduled session.

This free resource is a great tool that can help you make content in a way that is simple, intuitive, and fast! You can make posters, flyers, worksheets, edit pictures, make a video and more in minutes! And best of all, it is free! In this training, we will learn how to use this amazing tool to design creative and fun posters, worksheets, and other educational resources for your classes!

Description: Here in La Porte ISD, every teacher has a Campus Press teacher website. In this training, we will go over the basics of how to access and edit your site along with how to update and improve it using the tools available in Campus Press. Now that you have had the site for a year, let us go back and refresh your site to improve on what you started with! We will also look at numerous ways you can use your site to engage with students and parents next year.

Description: Choice boards allow students to choose the way in which they will demonstrate the understanding of the content they are learning. Description: Eduphoria’s Aware testing is regularly making improvements to keep up with TEA and STAAR re-design updates. Whether you are new to Aware assessment creation or want to learn how to add either content and language supports or new interactive question types, this session will get you up to date to help create aligned teacher tests next year.

Description: Have you ever heard people talking about how great Microsoft Excel was and you just did not understand?? Have you always wanted to learn more about how to use Excel as a teacher? Then this course is for you! In this training, we will learn the basics of Microsoft Excel and how to use its wonderful benefits for teachers in the classroom!

Description: Reading Progress is a free, new tool offered by Microsoft to monitor reading fluency using video recordings of students reading leveled passages. You are able to upload your preferred texts or use a vast library provided by ReadWorks with levels K-Secondary available. AI will analyze the reading for common fluency errors and create simple, but detailed reports for your own running records and can be returned to students for goal setting. Join us as we explore this exciting new tool that will change how you view fluency instruction at any age or instructional level.

Description: As a member of LPISD, you and your students have access to Microsoft Sway in Office 365. In this session, you will learn the basics of creating a blank Sway and how to use the provided templates to create a newsletter, presentation, portfolio and more.

Description: Designed for 3rd through 5th grade teachers, this session will walk you through a gradual process of training younger students to participate in a blended learning model using Microsoft 365 products and Clever. Give assignments, take grades, keep an interactive notebook and assess student learning in conjunction with a traditional classroom instruction.

Description: Discover supplemental resources you can leverage to support student learning. Within the TexQuest toolbox, you and your students have access to a wide array of multimedia resources in Learn 360. You will access the library of videos, create playlists and quizzes.
