Being recognized on behalf of Nixon School is MRS. MCINNES... Teacher, RoxBuddies Club Advisor, and Title 1 SAIL Academy Co-Coordinator.

Please be aware... Beginning today, YouTube will be disabled on the students' district issued Chromebooks at 4 PM each weekday, as well as on the weekends.

Adam Gustavson's paintings and drawings have appeared in over thirty highly praised and award winning books for children, as well as magazines, educational materials, advertising campaigns and galleries. He holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and a BFA from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.

His career in art education has led him to serve on the faculty of Seton Hall University and Philadelphia's University of the Arts. Since 2014, he has co-owned the Renaissance Art Studio in Millburn, NJ, with his wife (and manager) Denise, offering individual art lessons in a variety of media.

He lives in New Jersey with his family and a somewhat neurotic poodle, and spends his nights singing, writing, playing a couple instruments in any number of area bands.

On Monday, May 23, a recommendation will be made to our BOE for our Leave Replacement School Counselor. Mr. Schiller, who has completed two field placements/internships in Roxbury (@ Franklin School and Roxbury High School), will be joining us for the last 17 days of this school year. His primary focus will be providing counseling service to students who have school counseling as identified in IEPS and 504s. He will also be available to support emergent needs and to deliver Social Emotional Lessons to our Kindergarten students on a weekly basis. .

Every August, our district hosts a new teacher orientation. This year as a way to kick-off the series of training days, the district is looking to have students from each of the schools share with the new hirees "what it means to live and go to school in Roxbury?". For Nixon School, we are being asked to have TWO students share their thoughts to this question, in person at Eisenhower Middle School on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 8:30 - 8:45 AM. If your child would like to be a part of this presentation, please complete this Google Form and submit by Friday, April 29, 2022. Two students will be randomly selected to a participate in this experience. Thank you!
