In an effort to provide a safe and healthy environment for your child, please do not send your child to school if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

• Fever
• Sore throat
• Runny nose
• Congestion
• Cough
• Headache
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Body aches
• Fatigue
• Loss of taste or smell

Please notify the front office of any exposures to COVID-19 so we can determine when your student should return to school.

We are going to have the Halloween parade and classroom parties tomorrow, Friday, October 29th. If you do not want your child to participate, please let the teacher know and we will provide alternative activities. Here are a few details around the events:

Halloween Parade - The parade will start at 2:30pm and will take place outside on the playground blacktop. Parents, please line the perimeter of the blacktop and students will parade past you. Students will change into costumes before the parade. They are not allowed to wear costumes to school in the morning, and may only bring items that they are able to put on by themselves.

Halloween Party - Parties will start in the classroom before the parade. Unfortunately, due to covid, we are not allowing parent volunteers. Please be thoughtful if you are sending in snacks for the classroom. We would like to encourage healthy options for students and please consider allergies as well. All snacks need to be prepackaged or store-bought (no homemade items will be accepted).

Students ARE NOT allowed to have the following items:
*Anything bloody or gory
*Any weapons (even if they are part of the costume)

*Face paint (minimal face paint is allowed if the students can apply it themselves)

Please note costume masks are not a substitute for masks that protect against COVID-19. While inside the building, students will still need to wear their face masks.

Longmont Estates rolled out our new Conflict Resolution curriculum this month called Kelso's Choices. Kelso is a frog puppet who helps students identify small problems vs. big problems and empowers them to try and solve their small problems (like sharing, conflict with a friend at recess, or calming down and cooling off) on their own with the help of Kelso's Wheel of Choices. Six of our 5th grade students were nominated for their leadership skills to be part of Kelso's Leaders in our school. These students helped Mrs. Wise, our school counselor, teach all the other students at LEE about conflict resolution. We are so proud of our 5th grade Kelso's Leaders!

Just a reminder that Wednesday, November 3rd is a District Late Start day. School begins 2 1/2 hours later than normal. Buses run 2 1/2 hours later than their morning pick up time. Students may arrive on campus at 10:45AM. The first bell will ring at 10:50AM and the late bell will ring at 10:55AM. Breakfast will not be served. Preschool will have a normal start to their school day.

On Thursday, November 4th, Lifetouch School Photographers will be taking individual retake photos for those children who were not present on picture day or whose photos did not meet your standards. Order forms have come home in Thursday folders and extras are available in the front office. Also as a reminder, anyone needing a retake should return their original photo packet to the photographer.

Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, November 7th. Make sure you fall back and set your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
