SOLON INTERMEDIATE
MONTHLY UPDATE - OCTOBER 2019
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
As we begin the month of October, I can't help but think how lucky I am to be in Solon! I am surrounded by people whose passion and dedication to our SIS students is made clear every day, visible in their words and actions. I am humbled in the realization that I get to be the principal of this amazing building! I cannot wait to see all of the amazing things our students achieve this year!
I hope you find this monthly newsletter to be helpful and informative. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns or feedback.

TARDY POLICY
COUNSELING NEWS
Message from Mrs. Pentico:
Empathy is the focus of our current classroom social-emotional learning. Students are practicing how to recognize the feelings of others and how to respond with empathy. Empathy is the pathway to demonstrate understanding and compassion to our classmates and teachers. Students have enjoyed doing role-plays in the classroom and listening to walk, walk, walk in their shoes. It’s a catchy tune. Ask them to sing it to you. I have also included the link, if you want to jam on some empathy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTw6cGLKOEU
OFFICE REMINDERS
- Please be sure to sign in and out when visiting/volunteering in the building or dropping off/picking up a student.
- If your child has a change in their dismissal plan, please communicate that change to the front office by 2:00pm each day.
- Please copy Mrs. Arwine on all dimissal and arrival emails to teachers so that we ensure the front office is aware of any changes. Our teachers are busy teaching and don't always have a chance to check their emails before dismissal times.
